G'day Wookie. I know you've been busy chasing up numbers for Fredo but some of these figures contradict your previous postings. AFLw 1 has gone from 1.8mill to 2.74mill. The difference seems to be the Fox numbers.
Also round 1 Mens + womans GF states 5.197mill. You had AFL R1 at 4.3mill and GF 360k = 4.660.
I know there will be reasonable explanations for these discrepancies and sorry for taking up your valuable time.

Just a question wookie ... how many Nines matches were there as these would need to be added... as short as they were they would still be needed to do an average.
They were only broadcast in two (previously three) slots. Worth noting that the Nines are MUCH shorter than normal matches.
Do we know the amount of games though as that is what is needed to get the code average.
Once again Fred your trying to add one day matches & test matches because that's basically what FTA and PTV are..
When you do your little average Fred make sure you add up all the AFL pre-season matches as well as the women's matches and let me know how it turns out.

Agree pussy ... we need to add up all the games and divide if doing by code... that means aflw, preseason, nines etc. that is what an average is.
On the adding pay and fta together I think you need to add these and can't see the analogy with one day and tests. If you are saying to take nines out I can see your point and agree as it is a bastardisation of rl. So for code I would be happy to include all games of rl and Aussie rules and to compare AFL and nrl to include home and away and finals.

One of the times that they played a round over 2 weekends was the opening match to the season, a few years back. Bye round, my arse
I admit the NRL try to maximise there ratings, but the AFL do also. And they are so much better at it . That is one area were the AFL do dominate.
We've been talking about ratings for the last 10 pages, surely you can work out what I'm talking about.
I know I told you this just two days ago, but I'll try again . Everybody or just about, has a television set. (usually a square shaped box in the corner of the room). Its possible for 24m people to watch that box (if its turned on) AFL viewers are given the option of watching 4 matches (more in some cases) and these matches are available to all people who have this television thing-a-mi-bob. Now a Rugby League viewer like myself has access to just 3 matches per round (less even) because during the middle of the season we usually have just 2. There is another device and this device is not available to 70% of people . If you have PTV and your heart so desires you can watch AFL all day Saturday and much of the day Sunday - A maximum of 9 matches, though you could probably only watch 7 matches, although the breaks would allow you to watch 30m of games 8 & 9. Thought the audience for people wanting to watch more than 7 matches would be small. An NRL viewer can watch all 8 matches. I have PTV and regard myself as ardent viewer , I watch 6 or 7 and I'm not sure how anyone could watch more than that . Is it even possible to sit through more? Particularly if there 2 and a half hour AFL matches.
I told you only days ago that I factored in regionals for those Thur/Fri matches. the only thing that I did'nt factor in was the NZ viewers .
You just keep regurgitating the same old crap - if you take out the origin rounds I make it 8 each or 9-8 to us! with them in its 11-12 to you.
From memory, last years opning round was split because the MCG wasnt available. The decision was criticised heavily and probably drove down ratings.
I showed you the comparisons with regionals included, and in every permutation and combination you asked. We won all of them handsomely.
So we'll just have to agree to disagree since we've been over this for ages.
What we can do is count this season AS IT HAPPENS. At the moment the AFL is in front 3 to 1. Goodluck
My post clearly said 'a few years back' and the move was aimed at getting more rating usual

crap.
I showed the corresponding matches and the dates on which they were played - if your match ups are different than there bogus.

Ah in the first instance Ive taken the FTA total by mistake. The round total should be 1.8 million (fox was 430,000).
Mens round 1 is likely the estimated regional figures for the saturday and sunday games which were not provided and are estimated off last years figures until i get enough data to do them from this seasons.
(see also round 1 of the NRL where the sunday game wasnt reported at all except for Fox)
Thanks Wookie. So the total should be about a mill less. Ta.

If were using estimates How about putting in NZ. numbers. the last time we got figures from there was 2015. The club matches involving the Warriors averaged about 80k the other matches were about 20k.

No, one of your last AFL games had 1044 which only included TAS and WA regionals. So yours were BS

It would add 1m to Wookie 's chart for the NRL. While Terrys find would reduce the AFL tally by 1m.
Even with an extra win to the AFL its still miles from your original claim that the AFL wins nearly all.

Why would you include nz figures when trying to prove which is more watched in Australia ?

It wont make a bit of difference to the prime time comparison though.
Look, none of your home and away games rated over 1.3m where as we had a number. We also had far more rate over 1.2m and 1.1m. That comparison includes every game. Comparing finals was another easy win to the AFL.
You lost

Im not comfortable using estimated data from more than a season ago given we dont know anyhting about NRL ratings in NZ for 2016 at all. We dont know if they went up or down - up untuil the end of 2015 they were on a 3 year downward trend (
they dropped 21% in 2014)
(and it was 96k for Warriors games, 16k for non warriors according to my notes
4. New Zealand ratings are taken from 2015 averages of 16k fpr non new zealand games, and 96k average for games involving the warriors. And 40,350 during Finals, and 96k during Origin. Another 272k was added for the ANZAC Test
That article also had the rest of the NRL's down in 2014 also. But in 2016 the NRL ratings were
up 14%.
Removing ratings from this broadcaster seems rather convenient.

in my Opinion.
The AFL schedule is the best for fans and ratings..
The NRL should be copying the model
That teams like the cowboys and storm / raiders etc get FTA coverage of games.
the home model based scheduling works a treat for the AFL.

There's no way the AFL's concurrent scheduling is best for cumulative ratings. Also, the NRL schedule the Broncos on FTA almost every TH or F night, all for ratings.
