Actually, ParraEelsNRL, we do need the Victorian ratings. We need the ratings of all six states and both territories. It's a national event after all.
Let me make one thing clear about State of Origin, gentlemen of the AFL persuasion. When it began, it was purely New South Wales against Queensland. That tradition remains. But now it's more than that. It's a crucial recruitment game for the Kangaroos, and we should not deny Australians of any state the chance to show their skills in the highest representative game on the rugby league calendar. This is why the qualification rules are relaxed.

If that's the case then don't call it SOO or have a NSW or QLD - RL is very good at doing this have a QLD team with lots of players in it from states other than Queensland (Inglis born raised in NSW plays for QLD is bit one example) It's just like RLWC where players who once had a flat mate who friend knew a bloke from USA - gets him a game (over exaggeration I know but I think you get my point) - or another plays for Australia in one WC then decides in a subsequent WC plays for another country - it is a farce - if you want a selection game then have one don't call it SOO when it isn't!!!!

Lets be clear, when NSW and QLD played each other in 1909, that's when things really started for Rugby League in Australia.

But it wasn't state of origin was it - Dally Messenger lived in Vic and played football - but his SOO was NSW - just like Inglis was born and raised in NSW yet he plays for QLD - again RL SOO series IS NOT A TRUE SOO - it has become a farce - but because RL believe everything their told by NRL they accept it without question (Dave Smith saying they will be number one sporting community in 5 years is just one example!)

Who fucking cares, it is what it is and you AFL fans don't like it. Too bad for you, watch something else that interests you instead of trying to change something we like.

Actually lets get one thing clear, gentlemen of NRL persuasion, when State of Origin began, it was Western Australia v Victoria, it was Perth, 1977 and there wasnt a rugby league player to be seen - it would be another three years before league Origin would begin.
Of course it doesnt matter now, but if you start throwing "let me be clear" about the place....
A very convenient diversion. When was the last AFL State of Origin game played? And which code is playing on today and providing a much bigger event in the process?

SOO is boring in any event here's a prediction
NSW wins game 1
QLD wins game 2
QLD wins game 3
Ray warren keeps repeating the phrase "It's state against state and mate against mate"
Someone from NSW will punch someone from QLD and then go on to say we are not going to be pushed around anymore.
Someone will whinge about all the bad umpiring decisions that ruined the series for NSW!
Same ol same ol - it's boring!

Very simplistic, Swans4ever. Getting to that point and beyond is rather more exciting than what you are making it out to be.
