Federal Court decides ASADA/AFL investigation into Essendon was lawful, dismisses applications by Bombers and James Hird

BOMBERS players are staring at doping bans after Essendon and James Hird failed in a court bid to throw out the ASADA/AFL investigation into the club.

Justice John Middleton struck down every objection against ASADA and AFL’s joint investigation into the Bombers, saying it was conducted under the paramaters of the law.

The Bombers were also ordered to pay costs.

Essendon and Hird argued in a three-day hearing in August that ASADA had gone beyond its lawful powers in conducting the joint investigation into the supplement program at Essendon.

“I will order the dismissal of the application by Essendon and Mr Hird,” Justice Middleton said.

“The nature and the conduct of the investigation was lawful.”
:_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>

D Smith & the NRL sat back (after reading the riot act to Sharks players)& let ASADA do their investigation ,with no interference,no meddling .
Essingbong obstructed ,stalled threatened ,took legal action & bad mouthed ASADA through the media to try to get findings thrown out.
Now why would that be ?.
LOL..They rolled the dice & got smashed..

Me thinks that ASADA will want some revenge after having their name dragged through the mud by the Essingdope cheer squad.
Will open the popcorn & watch .

Adumb will havta hit the metho tonight..

Even I'm over this shithouse affair. What low low low characters at essendon to subject their players to such substances and then put the playersand the public thru an extended period of emotional strain while the essendon leadership put themselves above all in trying to save their own reputations.

What a fukking stinking mess that entire club is. And they Still call him golden boy.

Somewhat amusing on insiders this morn was the comment "that club has some fairly smart people working in it, it's a wonder they didn't have the foresight to conduct things differently to avoid what has happened"

 you could say some of our AFL fans have some smarts here at tf, pies for example. But foresight? that kind of knowledge is well beyond all of em. Just look at the betting results on this site. A bunch of brainwashed merinos, the lot of em.

KE,
Speakin that truth, as always on tf since '04 :afro:

I wonder if the AFL players will cop a decent penalty, not a mere 3 games like the pretend penalties the NRL players got?

Personally I think the players should cop a hefty 6month suspension like the nrl lads got.

And the essendon football club should be delisted by the AFL, the club should no longer exist, it doesn't deserve to.

Unfortunately it wasn't just ol golden boy who fucked the sporting nation round for 18months++ on this one freddy ya welchin wimp. It was the whole of essendons leadership who also towed the line.

An absolute disgraceful welch on their own personal fuckup of epic proportions. Not dissimilar to your ahonky behaviour in here freddy. ;)

Why will ASADA give Essendrug players a reduced penalty.
If they had taken the offer when first offered they would probably have copped the same as the Cronulla players.
But the big big difference is the way it was handled.
NRL sat back & let AASADA do what they had to with no interference.
The AFL & Essingbong did the opposite.
Obstructed, blocked threatened,& then took legal action against ASADA.
Dragged the ASADA name through the mud with their nedia mouth pieces.
Then there was VLAD trying to do dodgy deals behind the scenes.

I don't know about you ,but if I was ASADA ,then this club should pay the full price.
Revenge is sweet .
NRL came out of this smelling like a rose.
AFL ,a stinking pile of excretement.

well the AFL actually assisted the asada investigation according to judge middleton, they allowed them powers beyond tose available to asada at the time.

if you think 3 week bans makes the NRL smell like roses you obvisouly have avoided social media. it was roundly criticised for being limp wristed
