I wonder if the swans will be the highest drawing football team in Sydney across all codes for the 19th year in a row? I think so.

Here are the past 7 years of Swans attendences:Raiderdave wrote:I wonder if they'll be able to.. despite appearing in 3.. & winning 2 GF's
not have their crowds fall for the 7th straight year in a row ...

2012 274795 (down)
2011 292763 (down)
2010 337425 (Up)
2009 335552 (down)
2008 361169 (down)
2007 391953 (Up)
2006 376859 (Up)
Do you have a cognitive diasbility? Explain to me, using as few emoticons as you are able to, how the above demonstrates Swans attendances falling for "the 7th straight year in a row"?
Their average crowd this year - where an entire members' stand was unavailable - was the lowest it's been since 1996, and it was STILL higher than every single sydney based NSWRL team.
Very well, here are the past six seasons:Raiderdave wrote:

the 7th yr .. would be 2013 you d head .. meaning the first year would be 2007
& with their success ... 14 out of 17 finals campaigns since 1995 ... it should have only ever fluctuated by a small margin from its 36,000 high of 2007
The year preceeding 2007 was a GF appearance for the Swans. I'll be interested to see what effect this latest premiership has on 2013 crowds, even with a missing members' stand.Raiderdave wrote:
but it has dropped .... by 33% since 2007
& those sydney based NRL clubs ... are closer then ever ... just 1000 behind in 2012
where as in 2007 ... they were 16,000 behind![]()

if they weren't a top 4 side all year this year ... they would have fallen behind by 4000 behind the bulldogs

Again, I won't resort to name calling, as i'm pretty sure you have a cognitive disability. Still won't make 7 years in a row that crowds have dropped, given they rose in 2007 and 2010. Unless what you meant to say was that crowds haven't reached the peak of 2007? Saying that crowds have dropped for 7 years in a row, is like saying that NSWRL crowds have dropped 7 years in a row since 2005:
2012 16423 (up)
2011 16273 (down)
2010 16406 (up)
2009 16065 (up)
2008 15591 (down)
2007 15750 (up)
2006 15600 (down)
2005 16468 (up)
Say it. If - using your maths logic - the Swans crowds have dropped 7 years in a row, I want you to say that NSWRL crowds have also dropped for 7 years in a row.
The year preceeding 2007 was a GF appearance for the Swans. I'll be interested to see what effect this latest premiership has on 2013 crowds, even with a missing members' stand.Raiderdave wrote:

Swans were only ahead by 1,000 in 1995. Then they played in a GF and broke away. Did it again during the 2005-2007 period. Wonder what'll happen in 2013?![]()

I didn't start at zero. 2007 was an increase on 2006 for the Swans, and 2005 was an increase on 2004 for the NSWRL. I will not resort to name calling with you Dave, as you almost certainly have cognative disabilities and that would be wrong.Raiderdave wrote:

4 drops in 5 years.... 5 drops in the last 6 ( again u don't start at zero F wit) ..this despite 5 finals appearances & 1 premiership
thats impressive =D> =D> =D>![]()
based on the above ..its not in dispute ... they're on their way .. out![]()
did NRL crowds drop by 33% at any stage in the last 8 years .. on the peak of 2005 ?
no
or have they gone down 5 out of the last 6 years ?
no
take a hike then with your but but butting
if the answer had been yes to either question . & its yes to BOTH for the swines![]()
the natural conclusion by any unbiased person would be they're struggling ..... really struggling
all the turd polishing in the world can't hide this fact
how's the VFL been going with its attendances recently marcusXman wrote:Dave![]()

The NRLs crowds havent dropped because they havent expanded, changed their telecasting or upgraded any stadiums. If theyd dropped while keeping the status quo youd be completely stuffed.
and far more games being played in Tasmania, QLD and NSW/ACT. Add to that live telecasts for every game. Theres no way they wouldnt have dropped.Raiderdave wrote:how's the VFL been going with its attendances recently marcusXman wrote:Dave![]()

(You would hope that expanding the number of teams therefore the number of games would result in the expansion of the numbers there to watch the game live Expansion = get bigger and get bigger crowds.
So the story goes, they get more teams and build bigger stadiums, show all games on TV so they can reduce the attendances. I wonder why the NRL didn't do the same. There not dopey idiots that's why.
Maybe the AFL should not have shown all the games live and may have built up a following of live attendance by NOT showing all the games live. Being hungry for the TV bucks has meant fewer attending games (i would assume loss of revenue) loss of sale of club merchandise, jumpers etc at the game (I would assume loss of revenue) I wonder if the membership has/will drop. There are benefits of being a member when you go to a game, isn't there? What if you don't go, do you still bother paying membership fees? When membership goes down wouldn't that mean that revenue goes down also?
