I agree that the AFL will probably sort it out but seriously, right now there's lots of games each week that are not worth watching. The games at the top of the ladder are great but the rest...meh. It will be interesting to see how things are five years down the track. You mob think all will be dandy and fine but I think it will be a long and punishing haul for the AFL with it's basketcase teams.

ARs is a higher scoring game

There will always be blowout games. Essendon got beaten by 67points last night but were flavourites. I would much rather a higher scoring game like the AFL than a low scoring game like soccer where a fluke or poor decision can decide a game. Many NRL games have only 1 team scoring once or even not at all! how exciting!

Lets compare percentages (For/Against scores) between the AFL 2012 and the NRL 2012 so far this season.

The key is which team is closer to 100%. Being at around 100% means that overall your scores for and against have been fairly even.

AFL has 11 wins compared to the NRL which as 6 wins. Therefore using this method the AFL competition is a lot closer then the NRL competition.

GWS and suns are exceptions because they are new teams filled with kids. Once these kids mature they will be decent sides. Melbourne beat Essendon who were in the top 4.

It doesn't take much for an upset to happen in the NRL, because of low scores. I call that a bad thing - not a good thing.

Totally agree. Low scoring equals more fluky wins or more wins decided by poor umpiring.

The NRL can have it. It sure doesn't help them draw a crowd!
