Um KE, still waiting for your response about crowds needing to be 55-60k otherwise the atmosphere is "miserable" at ANZ Stadium. Again just for you. A crowd of 40k.

Perhaps in future you can keep your big gob shut on issues you clearly have NFI about.

I just watched and it looked like a half decent match. Problem is I wasn't there so how do you expect me to comment on the atmosphere when all you give me is a highlight reel...?

Ofcourse there's a BIT of atmosphere at times when one has 40k but overall the atmosphere, when under 55k, is always really flat. The stadium was not constructed for football of any code and the seats are miles away compared to other better constructed stadia. I should know, I've been there plenty of times Bearsy and when its under 55k i find the experience quite isolating and distant when compared to say 20k at the scg or th sfs. Theres likely hundreds of thousands and perhaps millions who agree with me on this one bearsy. Have a read of this lovely article, which resonates quite nicely with my thoughts.

Now i'll have you take back yor horrid comment on me keeping my big gob shut thanyou. [-(

As I've said, you have no idea what you're talking about and as even you suggest, you shouldn't comment on things you have NFI about.

It'd be great to add those regionals in as well. Can either Xman or beaussie summon those regional numbers, add them up and include them in? I'm sure the regional pop of Tas, WA and SA make up about a fifth of the regional pop in nsw and qld  Yes now i know why you folk are so discriminatory to Australias people living in regional areas.

almost spot on E

regional Population of NSW ... the ACT & QLD
nearly 6 Million

regional population of WA.. SA & the entire population of Tas & NT ( not convinced its entirely theres as League is quite strong in Darwin)
but anyhoo
about 1.6 Million

&

E... did you know
600K of these are in fact counted ......... in the metro figures for Adelaide & Perth
& Tasmanias numbers are available on the regionaltam website

whopped are the VFL
whopped good
It's more like 5.5m, and they are counted by the regional figures. The WA SA and Tas regionals are not. How about we add our 1.6 to the 1.6 in Vic, for 3.2M, and reduce your tally to 4M by taking 1.6 away.

Happy with that?

But beaussie, the article seems to know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm pretty sure it says the atmosphere is miserable when under 50k. I'd say millions of others feel just the same way.

Now take that back that I have no idea what I'm talking about, take it back at once!

No and your university lecturer wouldnt be either. Ahh Xman, you and maths just dont get along...since year 6

And please, dont amuse be by suggesting otherwise, you cant reduce a tally by 4 by taking 1.6 away.

Because you dunce the NRL regionals are not 6M, they are closer to 5.6M. Take away 1.6M leaves 4M.

Any other simple calculations you fail to comprehend that I can help you with? #-o

Ahbup I wont have it! enough Xman! I've had enough of your ridiculous statements. First you say 5.5m, then you say 5.6m. you're all over the shop and clearly dont know the figures or have a problem with maths. I'd say both.

With ticket sales already passing the 30,000 mark, the AFL are hopeful for a crowd of 40,000 plus.

I wonder how many NRL games will get over 30k this weekend?

well co.ckhead ..........considering 7 of the 8 NRL games are being played in venues that don't hold 30K
it could only be 1 anyway

the Bulldogs V Newcastle at ANZ
with an out of town side playing .. it won't get 30K either .. mid 20's I'd say

hmmmm.. but this is puzzling
VFL crowds bigger with 1 Sydney side playing prior to 2012
now smaller with 2 sydney sides playing :?

ummm 8-[
marcus ... how does that work ? :-k

:D :D :D " Have a look at what welfare has done for Aboriginal Australia. It’s been fantastic hasn’t it?” McGuire said on Triple M radio.

“This is what we’re getting with the AFL.

“If you’ve got clubs who think the only way they can prosper is to meekly put their hands out and maybe get a few crumbs off the table of the AFL, they’re never going to fight their way to the top.”

Kennett said the Magpies, Hawks and Geelong – the AFL’s three most recent premiers – had all been close to extinction within the past 15 years, but had fought their own way out with good business models.

“Unfortunately, for a number of years now, many of those businesses have not been run successfully enough to be sustainable, independent of the mother ship, which is the AFL,” he said of less successful rivals.

Kennett expected at least half the AFL’s clubs would receive special assistance next season.“The chances of them rebounding financially in the next five years is very limited. So we do have an underlying issue. It’s a question of sustainability."
