FTA is what counts, and in the capital cities total average AFL is winning. Pay TV is yet to gain a real share of the market in all respects because it's so expensive.
the League wins overall on FTA
despite having less content
I've yet to see one week where the NRL has had a win over the AFL on FTA in the capital cities that matter to the broadcasters and advertisers. Please note before you spew more rubbish in this thread, State of Origin is not the NRL.
thats why I said League
& for the umpteenth time we'll see wether regionals matter or not soon enough
& .. if the NRL increase their FTA content ( likely)
the NRL will win the ratings without its Rep Program padding it

Regionals have never mattered to the big advertisers since the first regional TV station opened in the 1960's. Historical fact.

That's a very nice story TLPG, but thats all it is. Its not a fact - dont pretend it is. Any big Company that disregarded 30% of its potential customers would'nt be a big bussiness for long!

Article
Regional figures are difficult for your average sports fan to find. However, the networks, Foxtel, NRL and AFL are well aware of the exact figures.

That is a fact
The FTA networks make a staggering 2.2 times more advertising revenue from regional NSW and Qld than from regional Vic, WA, SA, and all of Tasmania and the NT.

That is a fact!

Deduct Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth from that equation, Pussycat.
