Not bad with another 200-250k from foxtel, especially for a one sided game.

FTA TV ratings #AFL afternoon 403k (Syd 30k Mel 149k Bri 22k Ade 84k Per 118k) Seven/7mate
FTA TV ratings #AFL Night 756k (Syd 52k Mel 385k Bri 44k Ade 115k Per 160k) Seven7/7mate
MediaweekAUS
Pretty decent ratings for the evening really, especially given foxtel had two games and they would probably rate over 300k together.

hmmmm
603K VFL FTA metro Thursday night ( a staggering 56K in Brisbane

) the usual 120K regional .... 200 to 220K on Fox
VFL 920 to 950K nationally
the NRL Friday night
666K in Sydney & Brisbane ... 56K in the Sthn Caps .. for 722K metro
Mediaweek @MediaweekAUS Fri TV #NRL night 666k (Syd 390k Bri 275k)
Mediaweek @MediaweekAUS Fri TV #NRL on GEM Night 56k (Mel 36k Ade 5k Per 15k)
& our usual 500K in the regionals
1.222 Million nationally
VFL ...even with fox....
STILL ...behind the nations numb 1 TV code

to further show that the NRL continues to be the bigger code on TV
our biggest game so far in 2012 ( Dragons V Knights ) .. attracted nearly 1.3 Million veiwers nationally
( no foxtel replay figures included in bearsy's figures but they'd put the figure ova 1.3 Million)
the Collingwood V Hawthorn game attracted
HAW vs COL 7 FN
744,000 - 467,000 - 161,000 116,000
7M FN
62,000 23,000 - 39,000 - -
FOX FN
267,000
FOX FN
46,000
a total of 1.120 Mill without the regionals
add the usual 120 to 150K here
& we have the big VFL 2 Melb side blockbuster .... on FTA AND Foxtel ... shown from one end of the nation to the other
beaten by a run of the mill .. 1 sydney .. 1 regional team ... NRL game shown only on FTA & only in 2 states
hmmm
end of debate really i'd of thought

Hmmmmm 5.5m regional audience in NSW and QLD gives ratings of 500k but AFL heartland regional population of 2.5-3m rates 120k?
Roy masters himself showed the regional ratings were far closer (AFL 2/3rds NRLs), without all AFL heartland regional being included.
I know you don't like it but the AFLs first week rated 2million more than the NRLs first week. The NRLs weekly ratings have dropped 500k since then, so even if the AFLs ratings drop a bit they will still be miles ahead. Even including dodgy regionals will never make up that massive gap. Multiply that by 30 weeks and it's over Dave. Over

:
ah... when are you going to learn
the VFL regional audience is barely 1.9 Million ( the rest all included in metro figures )
the NRL's is about 5 Million
our Regional audience will always be more then 2.5 times the VFL's
120 to 150K
you are whopped in this dept by shear weight of numbers
stop trying to say anything different
you look like a bigger fool then you usually do otherwise ..........K

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/leag ... 1ln6r.html
Regional free-to-air figures for the NRL the past two years were 38 million. The AFL's were 23 million this year
Rather than your ridiculous guesses the above source shows the AFL reginals are 2/3rds the NRLs. Hardly surprising given the population of Tasmania and regional Vic are over 2mil, plus add SA, WA, and sections of NSW/ACT and QLD that follow AFL, since there are teams in those states.
This years cummulative figures, which ignore the 50% running time of the AFL, will embarrass the NRL, as they already are. That will match attendances, revenue and memberships.

Roy is senile & gets a fair bit wrong
like he has here
the NRL's regional veiwership is over 2.5 times that of the VFL's
that is just common sense .. seeing as we have 2.5 times the population
the fact is even with simulcast on FTA & FOX .. the VFL's audiences are only on par with the NRL"s
whats going to happen when we also simulcast all our games in 2013 ?
a right royal whopping perhaps ?

So the cumulative numbers youve been spouting all this time are actually wrong because Roy is a senile bastard?
5.2m to 3.3m pal. This round will be even more convincing since most NRL rounds are closer to 2.7m.
Read it and weep.

AFL matches(150m) are about 1/3 longer than Rugby League matches(100m) . And as I said earlier, this is more than counter balamced by the higher price for advertising time, in RL's part of the country. Also, the exta lenth of an AFL game makes it much more difficult for TV Networks to find suitable timslots, one's in which there matches dont overlap for example, 2 games of a FN or 3 games Sunday afternoon.
