Poor Dave

its amazing that 33% of the Swines & Wions totals reside interstate
& 66% of the midgets
the last figure was quite evident last sat ...... i mean
were there 4K people in orange there all up ?
& we're lead to believe they have 11K members ?
when most of your members are the games religious zealots who don't live within cooee of where you are playing ... & spend $30 on a fridge magnet & a scarf
they're not likely to be seen anywhere
are they ?

For starters those are pure guesses unless you actually find some stats to back it up.
Secondly, even if that is true, the numbers of members for all 3 clubs are still growing showing the teams are increasing in popularity, and a proportion is in qld and nsw. =D>
Burns doesn't it...

growth in NSW & QLD ?
in 2007 in NSW there were 32K VFL members ( 10K in VIC)
in 2012....an extra side & 100 million dollars later ... there was less then 30K
the only reason the number has increased to 34K in 2013 is because the swines won a tainted title
it cost the VFL ova 100 Million dollars to gain just 2K members & of course we know all of these reside in Victoria
in QLD
well its not better , its worse
they had 30K members there in 2009 with 1 team
& don't have many more then that in 2013 , hardly any more with 2..... they do however also have a bill of ova 100 million dollars
it is a joke
its laughable
that any sane person would be happy with results like this
of course everyone in vicky kicky land thinks this is great ..... hmmmmmm

.. what does that tell ya

Overall the trend has been up and it will continue this along this path. The swans from what I have heard will have a new record for membership this year. It's just bad luck their stadium is being redeveloped. The lions are at the low end of their premiership cycle and will rise again soon. The two new clubs are looking good they just need time now to increase membership and attendance numbers. You could make the same claim with the stock market and be just as wrong RD.

Titans average was 46k after their first game. Look how that worked out!
The Giants average 10k last year. Theyre on 23k at the moment. Oh the horror!

Raider, eels was simply showing the stupid analogy xman had used to try and make AFL look better. But eels shot it down pretty quickly. Hence why xman is quickly changing the subject back to the memberships!
Oh by the way xman cronulla is in the same situation as essendon however its a little bit different..... Cronulla have already almost doubled their membership numbers.
Oh also the NRL have ALREADY passed last years total by 10k!!!
NRL growing!!

And I was merely demonstrating how stupid posters are for suggesting the giants crowd was poor.
Cronulla have almost double their membership to levels? Wow, double of nothing is stuff all. For Essendon to double their total theyd need 100k, almost half of the entire NRLs total.
NRL might be growing in memberships but by less than the AFL, who are already ahead of last year despite being 3 rounds behind the NRL.

Not ahead of last year's total, ahead of last year at the same time, by a fair way. They are set to smash last years total.
"At this early stage of the year, AFL club membership across the competition is already well on track to eclipse last year’s all-time record tally of 707,621, and the clubs and the players deserve great credit for the peerless match-day experience at every AFL game."
