They share it right

28, 23., 22 for some clubs 6,4,0 for others
I assune these 6, 4, naughters are the clubs stuggling to survive - as eddie said 'The ones with no bussiness plan' :D

For those who are really slow ie you, it is mostly shared amongst teams who were finalists the year before, irrespective of their popularity!
eg Essendon are probably the second biggest Melbourne team yet got few FN games because they were bottom 6 from 2010!
Collingwood have been in the Finals and GF for a number of seasons in a row now, hence the number of games they have had on FN. 18 over the last 3 years barely covers the Broncos last year at 17!!

The Sydney match on FN is no different to the Melbourne FN.
AFL only have one game on the FN, but Adelaide teams dominate the SA broadcast just as Wa teams do in WA. So yes, having a swipe at the NRL , in this department means that you are a hyprocryte - a hypocryte to the Nth degree.
28 for Collingweood in the past 4 years

Ah no. The Raiders got 2 games on FTA TV last year to the Broncos 20. I wonder why they have no sponsor!?
The broncos have the 3rd largest city to themselves. So the NRL show them on the best rating night 17 times in a year.

then they claim their game is popular on TV. Well surprise surprise! Target a single city with their only team every fn will get results but it doesn't prove your game is popular! You only have to look at the games after the broncos, and see the drop in audience of over 50% to see that.

Irrespective, the broncos got 17 fn games and 20 FTA games last year, and the raiders 2. FTA exposure brings sponsorship opportunities, something the Broncos are king in your code, and the raiders are struggling with.
Why this disparity in treatment? Because for the NRL and ch9 to maximize ratings in Brisbane they are forced to show the Broncos almost every time, otherwise the ratings are significantly worse.
This behaviour, while giving a ratings advantage, hurts other NRL clubs.
The AFL don't schedule for popularity. They schedule the successful clubs from the year before, irrespective of their popularity. This is plainly obvious because the teams who have had the most FN games in the lat 4 years have been the finalists. Popular teams like essendon have few FN games because they have performed poorly over the last 4 years.

How many FTA games did Freemantle get? What 23 of 24, only missing out the week they had the bye. - wow what a hypocrite.

The AFL teams belonging to non Melbourne cities ALL get shown to their home market over each weekend. So your comment is clearly stupid! It has nothing to do with favoritism of one team over another because they all get the same treatment! The AFL dont schedule the most popular team every FN, like the NRL do with the broncos!

They schedule the Finalists from the year before.

244k for foxtel.

So that makes an even 1million for last nights AFL game between Richmond and Carlton! This does not include any regional ratings! =D> =D> nor was the game targeted to more than one audience. Plus it was on delay to SA and WA!
Good times this year for the AFL. Record ratings and crowds on the way! :D

So if i am a AFL Fan i can watch my Fox channel AFL in the lounge room and in the bedroom have the same game running on FTA? Now this seems like double dipping to me if this is the case?
2011 season review revealed rugby league had a cumulative audience of 134 million viewers, without including a further 12 million in New Zealand.
AFL 113 million, you blokes have no chance in hell at reaching 134 million let alone the extra 12million who watched in NZ last year. =D> =D>

Well let's examine this. So far the AFL have registered about 1 million viewers for each of 2 FTA & Paytv games, excluding regionals. Add the ratings for Saturday and Sunday day games of say 800k each, and you're looking at 3.6M per round.
Add the other 5 foxtel games conservatively rating around 200k each, and youre looking at 4.6M each round!!!
This is at least 1-1.5 Million extra viewers per round compared to the figures Beaussie has for AFL last year!!
Times this by 24 plus finals and the AFL should get around an extra 30-35M extra viewers compared to last season!
And this doesn't take into account the fact that each AFL game has an extra 50% audience because of the extra hours running time!
Oh, and counting NZ!

cool story brew!

Big Jump on the same game last year.
2011: 690,000 Capital City FTA, including only 9,000 in Sydney and 36,000 in Brisbane.
2012: 756,000 Capital City FTA, including 40,000 in Sydney and 51,000 in Brisbane, and an additional 244,000 on Pay.
Interestingly, the additional 244,000 Pay viewers didn't appear to take ratings away from Seven, with FTA viewers in Adelaide and Perth all up on 2011, and viewership in Melbourne only down 24,000.

Impressive figures so far in 2012.
From BF! =D> AFL up 310k or over 30% on last years opening game.
