Yet you keep responding .... which I see now you use to deflect the facts I posted. But this is what you do to most threads where you can’t combat the facts shown. Deflect. We will add white noise to personal insults, refusing to answer until something else is answered, or pointing out spelling mistake. Weak as piss.

Pathetic and as I sad weak as piss response.
Thought I would post again the points made re aboriginal participation for the viewers at home to bring the focus back to the discussion at hand.
Can you point us to which game this was.
There are still a lot of aboriginals playing the game. Why does it eat at you that there is? Just accept it. Not just at AFL level - but across the country. It is the sport of choice of Aboriginals in WA and NT - the outback - that is what they play mainly. Not sure why this is an issue. So many great Aboriginal AFL players playing and have played. As noted previously and again here - there is still some work to be done administratively.
Aboriginal AFL statistics
This is a small snapshot of Aboriginal AFL statistics in 2008 [1]:
The AFL's Aboriginal programs reach more than 87,000 Aboriginal people or 36% of Australia's Aboriginal population.
25 Australian Football Indigenous academies operate across the country.
Four AFL clubs engage with Aboriginal communities: Essendon (Wadeye), Geelong (Gove and Groote), Richmond (Alice Springs) and Collingwood (Katherine).
189 Aboriginal players play AFL/VFL football.
72 players are on AFL club lists, an historic record.
Aboriginal football players make up 10% of the AFL competition, another historic record.
14 Aboriginal players have played 200 games or more, 7 more than 250 games, one has reached 300 games (Gavin Wanganeen).
156 Aboriginal players have made their AFL/VFL debut since 1980. Only 23 did so prior to 1980.
AFL clubs employ around 1,300 employees [2]. Out of these
only 5 are Aboriginal,
only one Aboriginal person is a club executive,
only one is on club boards, [3] and
only 2 out of the 150 coaches are Aboriginal.

Anyone willing to comment on these stats or provide some proof re the game discussed. Again, not saying it didn’t happen just curious which game (given said poster constantly asks for proof).

NRL has 12% of players of Indigenous background compared to 9% in anglofl.
17% of all registered Rugby League players in Australia are Indigenous - the highest of any code.
The biggest Indigenous gathering in the world each year is the Koori Knockout - a league comp. 2nd biggest is Murri Carnival which is the Queensland equivalent of knockout.

The rugby’s get the bulk of the islanders to play for them as the game is perfectly suited to their large frames body types. They are burst athletes.
And any successful islander to have played AFL?
Mouri, Tongan, PNG, Fiji ect

Re: How does it feel knowing Australians embraced Rugby League yet English rejected AFL?
Incorrectly arguing over semantics, pinpointing certain players doesn't change fact anglofl is statistically the least diverse code.Fred wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2019 11:47 amThere are plenty of aboriginal players playing Australian Rules football right across this country ... I watch an interesting show over the weekend on a place in the outback where they play on red dirt for an oval. All aboriginal? Aussie Rules is the primary code for many an aboriginal community in the outback. And plenty of aboriginals play Aussie Rules in Aussie Rules states .... because rl is pretty minor and in many areas ... non existent.
Even in nsw and qld aboriginal kids play Aussie Rules. So not sure what you are on about.
Then there are those refugee Africans who have adopted the game. Some even playing at the top level of AFL. Any Sudanese playing nrl at the top level?
There there are people from European backgrounds who are etched throughout AFL history. Silvani, jesalinko are famous in AFL. Look at the map provided .... did you not look at it. People from all over Europe. We have a Fijian (parents) as one of the best players in the comp ... when fit. Yes, AFL generally doesn’t appeal to Pacific Islanders ... rugby codes are what they grow up on of course so they naturally go into that sport.
And there are I think 62 maybe more, aboriginal people playing AFL at its highest level.
Again... look at the map. Don’t comment until you do please.

Re: How does it feel knowing Australians embraced Rugby League yet English rejected AFL?
I’m not saying nrl doesn’t have aboriginal players playing but that doesn’t counter the stats provided that AFL does too. And could you provide the link. And aboriginal players play Aussie Rules in large numbers ... it’s the number 1 code in NT and WA and many aboriginal players play across the country. In non rl areas where there aren’t even rl teams in some areas... what winter sport do you think aboriginal people play???AngloFootballLeague wrote: Tue Sep 17, 2019 8:35 amRugby League is game of choice for Indigenous Australians.Fred wrote: Tue Sep 17, 2019 6:31 amCan you point us to which game this was.

Oh and the stats given say 10 percent of players on AFL lists are aboriginal not 9 percent. So really only 2 percent difference and I am yet (nor will I ) do the maths but given the higher playing numbers in AFL does that mean more AFL players. How many nrl players are there? 72 for AFL. What is the Nrl?

What a stupid argument - USA population is 330 million. There are about 800,000 people in Australia who identify as Indigenous. Events which can draw over 30,000 each represent a considerable part of that population.The_Wookie wrote: Tue Sep 17, 2019 8:59 pmhahahahahahahahahahah oh wait your seriousAngloFootballLeague wrote: Tue Sep 17, 2019 8:35 am

the largest AFL tournament in the world is the USAFL nationals, it doesnt make the sport the game of choice for americans.
The 2013 Report to Parliament states
https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Bu ... apter3.pdfThe AFL in its submission stated that Indigenous Australians represent:
6 percent of all participants
10 percent of AFL lists, and
3 percent of employees.
The Rugby League National Census 2011 identified Indigenous
Australians in various roles across the game, including:
3.39 percent of committee members at registered clubs
⇒ 5.8 percent of all registered Rugby League players in Australia (aged
4-19+)
⇒ 8 830 males 532 females
8 percent of National Toyota Cup players
12 percent of NRL players
21 percent of State of Origin players, and
35 percent of the Australian National Team.4
Given the greater number of AFL players, the actual number of Indigenous players is likely higher for the AFL.
NSW & Queensland boast most Indigenous people in Australia. Rugby League has a strong connection to this community & is clearly the game of choice.
Far more recent source lists registered grassroot players at 17%

get me an actual source ffs cause this one uses the 12% figure from 2011 and appears to have invented the 17% one - I simply cannot find another source for that data.
17% figure listed on a number of sites including official NRL.

Nope, not only evolving language, Chuckballers are now retrospectively evolving history.Terry wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2019 10:00 amWrong on every count my friend! For example; Anglofl players & fans are so anglo.
And you still can’t get it right...it specifically relates to the English or related to the English. Not all English are white and not all white are English, in fact most are not.
“Anglo is a prefix indicating a relation to the Angles, England, the English people or the English language, such as in the term Anglo-Saxon language. It is often used alone, somewhat loosely, to refer to people of British Isles descent in the Americas, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia.”
Oh my. Perhaps you could evolve into a person who has more comprehension.
The UK also has large populations of Celts largely in Ireland, Wales and Scotland. And of course there is the Normans of Normandy France. You know......1066AD and all that.
So your premise that Anglo Saxons relates to the English or English language is demonstrably incorrect, without nuance and ignorant of the facts.
And yes......the Anglo-Saxons are lily white. Which is the point being made here.
“Anglo-Saxon, term used historically to describe any member of the Germanic peoples who, from the 5th century ce to the time of the Norman Conquest (1066), inhabited and ruled territories that are today part of England and Wales.Jul 30, 2019”

So the encyclopaedia Britannica says it refers to people that “today” you know, now?, occupy England and Wales , and does not, now, and since the 5th century, refer to anyone else and less you know better than Britannica.
You argue with great authority from a position of great ignorance.
