Traditionalists said it was ridiculous and would never work, however the young ones, kids in particular embraced the new short form of the game and kids in particular dragged their families along to create big crowds and a very different atmosphere at the grounds and look now... million $$$ tv deal and tv networks fighting it out for broadcast rights.
