You said LOL that you have never heard a reason. Leeroy just presented you with some - you chose not to hear. It just goes in one Ear and out the other.
There are 200 games, We accumulated more ratings , and we had the top 2 matches and 4 of the top 5.
the other 165 matches ???????????
Each game Friday night has 25% of the match shown in isolation. And don't forget about the recently mentioned pub factor. Many people go to pubs to watch the football Friday night. There 1000 more in Sydney, probably similar in the rest of the state. Don't forget Brisbane . And don't forget clubs as well because there numbers would be similar.
When you combine these things with Leeroys things it just shows how pathetic the AFL is.
so you guys are hanging your hat on:
- more people in pubs watching in NSW and QLD. That's as lame as it gets and would account for a few thousand people per game at most
- the AFL advantaged by having a longer game that doesnt finish until 10.30pm, while the NRL get a massive advantage with a shorter game which finishes earlier and averages close to peak
- the AFL only showing the top 14 teams when the NRL show Brisbane, their only mega-club, almost every week

Add to that the finals were your 8 best teams playing off, against our 8 best teams. And we won them all! That sinks that pathetic excuse
35-4 is a huge thrashing which clearly shows the dominant code. The tally only shows the difference in scheduling
A few thousand people in pubs watching NRL at most???
Wow!!! Does this chump even live in Australia? Seriously, in Sydney outer western suburbs alone there'd be thousands. Add in eastern inner west southern Sydney, then add in NSW regional then add in qld cities and regional
Someone ask nlol if he's living in a remote Afghanistan community. He's seriously that far off the reality here. What a dill brain

Its 1000 pubs extra in Sydney alone. so there will be more than just a few K! But Your forgetting what one extra viewer is worth when you consider they are resented by just 6000 boxes.
The NRL ratings wer;nt affected by the 11 o'clock finish the other night!
Only to appease Channel 9,' making sure they win the Brisbane slot As mentioned by you, more than a few times Melbourne is our best club but appear on FTA about 6 times.

https://www.bobinoz.com/blog/17283/aust ... -by-state/
NSW 2052
QLD 1251
VIC 1092
SA 658
WA 595
TAS 281
NT 72
ACT 32
Total: 6033
NSW/QLD/ACT account for about 3400, therefore AFL states account for 2600 or so. Plus AFL has a following in Southern NSW, and to a degree in the rest of NSW and QLD, so the number of heartland pubs would be closer to 55/45 in NRL heartland's favour.
If you count on say 50 people watching sport in each pub that'd be 300,000 total, 165,000 watching NRL and 135,000 watching AFL. However, given only a few hundred thousand out of the 5 million people living in Sydney watch Friday night NRL I think the figure would be no where near 300,000, not even half. So really, the figure will be insignificant given the ratings are near 1mil.

Tell this dipshit his assumption re percentages of AFL followers in NSW and qld is fairyland stuff. And tell him 1000s upon thousands of people also attend clubs to watch rugby league. In fact they attend clubs in their thousands.

that's without pubs

then ask him how's it going living in a cave

I looked up that site that you provided a link for LOL. He says his Numbers were provided by another site. This 'other' site has a list of each towns and the number of pubs. My town was listed has having 1 pub , it actually has 3.

as far as Im aware these are similar figures to those provided by you guys. If you have a more accurate source then post it. Otherwise your 'pub' excuse is busted

More excuses now that the pubs excuse has been extinguished. You honestly think clubs exist in NSW alone?
Lol

800 extra pubs in states where AFL has some presence doesnt equal 40000 extra NRL fans. Plus you need to take into account the AFL often have 20-40k more fans at their games which like pub goers arent counted as viewers
