I just saying I just hope the game doesn't turn out to be a embarrassing joke like the China Syndrome.
Last years game one was the most popular ever and it had a few empty seats - there's no free giveaways here.

Greatest sporting events should get more than a partially full 50k stadium, especially when the local team represents an entire state.pussycat wrote: Tue May 30, 2017 11:06 amI just saying I just hope the game doesn't turn out to be a embarrassing joke like the China Syndrome.

The AFLs Saturday night game on the weekend sold out a 100k stadium as announced by the MCG

I am pretty sure the cowboys get very close to the broncos figure on FTANlolRL wrote: Sun May 28, 2017 3:59 pmI looked up a schedule and it said Freo had Friday in round 23. I didnt realise it was a flexible schedule so it was my mistake. I can post the link if you want to check.pussycat wrote: Sun May 28, 2017 3:18 pmFreemantle for a start . We need to play a match in our second market and we only have 3 teams in Qld and 3 FTA timeslots. As the Broncos are the most popular, and the only Metro side they get shown on Thursday or Friday quiet often.
Don't worry about the ratings . We will win them just like we do every year. Interest in our events![]()
3 more sleeps.
Sorry, you cant talk about our scheduling when the Broncos are so heavily favoured due to their draw on ratings. You should be 10-2 up in the ratings with that dual market scheduling, not 10-2 down
metro is usally about 60k down But they make up for it with the massive regional figure.

Despite having 3-4 even 5 different timeslots. The Bulldogs and the Swans both have close to 10 matches each of a Friday night. If your sides that don't get a start in major slot The Lions , Freemantle the suns. That's three more wins to the NRL as would the opening round match which seems to avoid with your selective reasoning. Do Your selective figures include the test match that was played on a Friday? Last years match which got 490k on a Fox would have rated better than any Friday night club game if it was shown on FTA. The next 3 origin matches will assure that we have 4 of the top 5 programs on TV. There a bit more to being the top rating sport in this country than just Friday night.

And if unique viewers and unique audience means the same thing then we also had the highest rating streaming match at club level .

Re: Australias Greatest Sporting Event!
so waht? The Broncos dominate your Th and FR FTA games, so you cant talk. Add to that the Broncos are by FAR you largest club, while neither the Bulldogs or Swans are amongst our biggest clubspussycat wrote: Tue May 30, 2017 5:52 pmDespite having 3-4 even 5 different timeslots. Well, given you've lost many games by 200-300k thats no given. Add to that many of your bottom sides only figure ONCE on FTA on Fr, so you're comp is hardly better. Of course your opening round isnt used, it doesnt directly compete with another AFL game.If your sides that don't get a start in major slot The Lions , Freemantle the suns. they arent selective figures, theyre every single game shown against the other sportDo Your selective figures include the test match that was played on a Friday?
What's your point? That was last year, plus it wasnt on FTA which always lowers the STV ratings.Last years match which got 490k on a Fox would have rated better than any Friday night club game if it was shown on FTA
which really means little. If we played the GF as best of 3 we would also have 3 of the top rating gamesThe next 3 origin matches will assure that we have 4 of the top 5 programs on TV. There a bit more to being the top rating sport in this country than just Friday night.

Re: Australias Greatest Sporting Event!
what I read from those stats is more steaming minutes to the AFL, which is only natural as the game goes a lot longer. I'm not sure what to much of it means but
The NRL appears to be doing better on social media. they had the highest rating game (according to Telstra) with Sharks v Titans 59k unique viewers compared to unique audience of 56,153 for the AFL's top rating match (maybe there not the same thing ?)
I read on another Telstra site that there had been more NRL apps purchased in the 1st 2 weeks of the 2017 season than in the entire 2016 season.
