For the sane poster's here: It is very simple to find out where GWS players come from. In a world first I went to their clubs official website and......ummmmm.......looked! I know.....how smart am I????? Genius!!!!!!

And whata ya know - there it was for every man and missing link to see - every player on their list and a bio of where they came from and their junior club.

Incredibly their only west Sydney listed player had no junior club listed. I hope that helps.

I think players from Sydney and surrounds would qualify as local players ... any of those on western Sydney list ... or sydneys lust? Are there any players from western Sydney or greater western Sydney whatever that is ... on any AFL list ?

There are loads of players from Sydney & nsw on the AFL system & on gws and swans lists.

I was looking at Sydney and surrounds as this is non AFL heartland. Southern nsw has a strong AFL presence equal to rl in most parts so don't count that.
