15 k watched the AFLOL game in Brisbane ...no Bris team playing .

24 K watched the NRL in Melb ..no Melb team playing ..

So you can add 5 k for STV ...gives the Aflol game in Briss ,about 20 k
Still less than the NRL game got in Melb .

We are not the ones who continually make the claim
AFL is going to take over .
AFLOL is comparable to RL on QLD .

When the lions play the ratings are ordinary .
When they don't it's terrible .
Same with the storm .

Yet more & more we are seeing bigger tv ratings for RL in Melb ,than AFL ratings in Syd or BRIS
Look at last yrs GF .
Yet we still get the take over BS from fumble fans
The difference is we know where we are at in VIC .
AFLOL fans don't seem to have a clue about how popular AFL is in the northern states

=D> Superbly put there aflcrap. There is such a difference in knowledge, awareness and attitudes between our AFL and nrl members. It's a chasm, with rl supporters far far far superior in each department. The above figures and commentary from aflcrap and rl co clearly proves this point.

I don't believe it is higher .
The high numbers of STV subscribers in the northern states have always been attributed to RL viewers ,due to the terrible FTA coverage .
& I can't see why they'd suddenly start watching AFLol

If it were not for the Sydney Swans and the AFL, the Sydney Cricket Ground would still be a depressing ruined circus of decrepit sheds and neglected stands.

The awesome stadium it is today, so proudly representing Sydney during the recent Cricket World Cup 2015, is mostly attributable to our city's embrace of Aussie Rules, the money fans spend to attend the games, and the hundreds of millions of dollars AFL generates in NSW from sports tourism.

Meanwhile, Manly fans won't travel; NRL fans watch games on TV spending little. Stay at home. No sports tourism. No economic multiplier effect.

Unsurprisingly, underused rectangular stadia become depressing, ruined circuses of decrepit sheds and neglected stands.

But don't blame the TV-besotted fans.

Blame-shift to the government.
