Thread hell. KE is done and is waving his tail around to try and hide the fact that it's between his legs and he should be walking off. Suggest the decision be taken out of his hands and this thread be locked.

Evidence? There is umpteen media reports suggesting tanking exists, I've provided a clear definition and then Xman provided statements from an AFL coach which clearly align directly to the definition.
Yes lock this thread as I'm quite over providing and referring to all the evidence of tanking in the AFL while you muggos have provided zilch evidence apart from your own irrelevant opinions, that tanking does not exist.
I'm a clear winner in this thread, lock 'er up Xman! To save your and TLPG's hides from any more whippin :D

You've been thrashed because all you've done is spread the same false rumour the media have. Everyone with a functioning brain will see that when they read this thread. You don't know what tanking is, and that's a fact.
The end!

The media have taken the literally correct angle on it when one defines tanking. Thus the furore and so there should have been. Just because you support the AFL TLPG, it doesnt mean you blindly support everything they do and have ever done. Thankfully the AFL have made changes to their draft rule to try and avoid similar tactics in the future. The AFL has learnt. TLPG and Xman have not.
And that's the end of that.

The changes to the AFL rules will NOT stop what Bailey did. Because he did nothing wrong. And neither does anyone else who plays players out of position. The media were wrong and you know they were wrong, but you're too stupid to admit it.
Get out of here, troll. You contribute zero to this debate.
The end this time!

He played players in other positions...with the upcoming draft in mind. Baileys words not mine TLPG. I'm sorry but this is tanking, plain and simple. And that's alllllllll she wrote!

Sure did. He played forwards in defense and defender forward, knowing full well it was important to accelerate their skills and development. Unfortunately this was at the expense of experienced defenders and forwards, but making room for new recruits he would take in the draft.
No tanking here.

THERE is, at the heart of the AFL draft system, a false premise: recruiting teenagers is both a precise exercise and one certain to raise low teams high. It is not true.
While drafting astutely is unquestionably important to success, nearly every premiership club of recent years - Geelong being an exception - has traded, as much as drafted, its way to the top.
Port Adelaide added experience from elsewhere to just about every line to win in 2004, just as Sydney did, with Craig Bolton, Barry Hall, Paul Williams, Nick Davis, Darren Jolly and Jason Ball, to succeed the following year.
Who could envisage Collingwood's triumph in 2010 without Jolly, Luke Ball and Leigh Brown? Even the Cats were captained in 2007 and 2009 by ex-Port Adelaide defender Tom Harley and led in the ruck by a former Tiger, Brad Ottens.
Drafting can explain some of Sydney's unbeaten start to this season but it cannot be fully understood without recognition of the importance of trading for Josh Kennedy, Shane Mumford, Rhyce Shaw, Ted Richards, Marty Mattner and Ben McGlynn over the years.
The draft is not science nor certain cure which, to an extent, is what Melbourne and Jack Watts tell us, if we want to listen.

And here is the proof that tanking is a myth. Evidence has shown it will not result in the recovery of a club any more than good decision making at the trading table. Clubs know this is true and would prefer to develope a winning culture in their club than deliberately lose for no real benefit.

Such blind faith in the goodness of footy clubs to not intentionally lose matches in order to win draft picks at the end of the season. You and TLPG are a cute couple Xman. Cute...but dumb as all fukk. Bailey clearly referred to draft picks when explaining his decision to play players in other positions. This is the dead giveaway and why there has rightly been much furore and disappointment about the disgraceful act of tanking, which Bailey did.
Lock this baby up Xman!

And all clubs know draft picks are not the answer to success. Building a side around established and clear team instructions and game plan are much more effective. How is that going to work when a team is deliberately losing?
You've been completely sucked in by the tanking hoax the media drive to sell papers. They rely on fools like you to take it hook line and sinker and you haven't disappointed.

Oh comon now Xman. Lets not act stupid here, oh sorry, for you it prob aint acting.
The top draft pick is a player who 99 times out of 100 is simply more skilled and has more potential than a 20th draft pick. Hence teams would be very happy to get higher draft picks, who 99 times out of a hundred would inevitably provide more opportunities for success on the field.
We know you're stupid Xman but please dont insinuate club managers and coaches are as stupid as yourself and TLPG in all this.
Lock 'er up now Xman! TLPG and you are copping a real thumping in this one and TLPG would also like it if you locked this baby up. He's really struggling now.
