So did Melbourne Storm vs Brisbane Broncos go live into Melbourne tonight. I'm certain you posted in another thread previously that this game would be live as Channel 9 sees the ratings bonanza that is live Rugby League in Victoria.

You guys make me laugh, I am new to talking footy website and have just read through a good chunk of the Fight Club and AFL fans are all the same, tunnel visioned who will say anything to make a case with no supporting evidence. My research shows the websites I use if you want to do some research yourself, however I have found the following to save you the trouble:
website
http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2011/07/ which I am assuming you are getting most of your half baked information from, (based upon the numbers I see thrown around) should only be used for Pay TV as it does not include regional viewers in the top 50. I can prove this in any one of the 7 times that the NRL Friday night live game made the top 40 on free to air between 13/3/11 to 18/7/11 in comparison to the 2 times AFL games have. To confirm for yourself take a look at week 20 (which is one of the 7 times) within website
http://www.thinktv.com.au/content_commo ... eports.seo. The NRL Friday night live game has the total of regional + metro viewers as 1,173,000 where metro makes up 663,000, in
http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2011/05/week-20-3.html it also shows 663,000 in total therefore missing all regional viewers.
Talk manipulation of figures, AFL diehard fans continue to use website where there is no regional consideration and why, because AFL never registers in any top programs in regional areas, even with the grand finals. Sorry regional Australia makes up a large portion of Australia population and needs to be considered regardless of program. Friday football is in the regional top 40 almost every week and Sunday Football also makes a regular appearance which is significant if you know anything about senior bush football, as it is played on a Sunday around the same time the game is broadcast. Also, there is not a single game of AFL game which appears in the regional top 40 between 13/3/11 to 18/7/11 so of cause they are not included in any figures produced by any AFL fan in these debates. Deal with it and use all the facts available, rather than just what suits you. You keep talking about being a national game however you only want to include Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in your figures and Sydney and Brisbane to add an extra 100 odd thousand.
Continue to use your apples with oranges figures from
http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2011/05/week-20-3.html and where there is results for all metro areas only for AFL and where there is no figures for NRL in Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth, because it has worked so far to try and bounce the numbers around in your favour. Don't forget guys we just had Broncos play South’s in Perth and even with the torrential rain it was a sell-out, so there are plenty of NRL fans in Perth and we will be headed there soon. You all keep preaching you’re a national code, your Melbourne centric and have, 7 odd sides out of the state. NRL is NSW centric, and has 5 teams in different states and oh another one in a different country because we don't just play our sport in Australia, not really to different when you put it in perspective hey.
Lastly, I love the figures being thrown around about grand final, again get all figures which include regional Australia and then let’s have a debate. You may want to remember if we have this debate that we also have representative games that you don't have to broadcast. To finish off you may want to consider the 11 odd million viewers that watch the three State of Origin games or the world cup or the tri nations or the Anzac test. Still debating, give me a break. I will be fair and say you have more people come to your game, congratulations, but don't bother any more on the TV viewers.
