The city FTA is actually quite good as it out-rated the fumbling in the same time slot. Regional and Stan numbers will tell the story though.

It does beg the question why the NRL hasn't got regular Saturday night FTA games during the season. It would be a great avenue for Ch10 to have one game a week of Australia's most watch sport.

dare I say the 9th game from around 2026 ?

I think the terms of the present contract state 9 & foxtel have first dibs at buying it
but if it isn't primo coin

then 10 or 7 can have a crack

minimum 50 mill a year extra for the 26 games it would add to the schedule

Agreed. The AFL on the other hand continues to deliver for the Seven network.

Seven was both the #1 primary channel and network last night with shares of 20.8% and 30.4%.

Meanwhile the National Rugby League did not even make the Top 20 on Thursday night with the Melbourne Storm featuring. Gees the Melbourne audience numbers must have been awful for the Nine network eh?

And over on Fox the AFL won the night too…. nationwide.

when a team you are playing does not score a point until the 77th minute (ratings will be poor)

I wonder what an AFL match would rate if the other team did not score a point until the 4th Quarter lol

Metro markets for the networks are in the main, what they and advertisers consider and ultimately pay the big dollars for broadcast rights and broadcast sponsorship packages. Being the number one metro network helps sell advertising even across regional affiliates.
