the existing clubs have a right to know why these latest sides were needed when there are so many clubs unable to balance their books when the talent pool wasn't ready & this has impacted badly on the quality of the comp

The existing clubs voted unanimously in support of expansion. They know that increasing the national footprint of the comp results in more lucrative sponsorships. Hell, Port just signed Renault as a sponsor. As for your assertion that the comp has suffered, while there were big blow-outs last year, the actual competition was as tight as its ever been, and the race to the finals was electric, as demonstrated by superior finals ratings for the AFL over the nRL.

In 30 years the VFL became the AFL, and has expanded its footprint to have at least 2 teams in every mainland state, and games played in every territory. Their revenue has exploded, and participation has boomed. If that's failure, i'll have 30 more years please.

we do complain as we have a thing called independant thought

now if we had the NRL starting up 2 new clubs in say Adelaide & Hobart
spent nearly all of the codes money setting them up
allowed them access to nearly all of the codes talent in the draft & leaving very little for struggling clubs in the heartland
allowed them to spend more then clubs in the heartland on their salary cap so they could poach talent that they developed away from these clubs ....
in fact not just allow it , but fucking encourage it & offer to fuckingwell pay for it !!
