still dont know anything about a business!
in this case profits mean jack shit, in a not for profit organisation, the AFL turn over is far higher than the NRL and still making profits with revenue growing

That's very interesting sooks. But can you tell me what this means: "interesting fact – since 2012, GWS have spent 24.093m on Membership expense and merchandise costs…for a return of 24.201m – a profit of $107,628. However they also have a merch writeoff of 3.5m on the books in 2013….sooo they havent done spectacularly well here."
A spend of $24.093m for a return of $24.201m doesn't seem to be very good business. And it includes a write off of $3.5m. In your considered opinion what is happening here?? It seems a little fishy sooks.

it sounds hilarious,
they almost spending as much to get support and keep support. and not gaining anything out of it.
What i find also Membership to GWS has went leaps and bounds since 2016
but the crowd average in 2016 was 12k and this year it is also 12k
Members 15k to 36k (but no increase in attendance ?

similar cases can be said about League teams also. the only thing is seeing the AFL is running and bank rolling them and the NRL expects governments to do this, the AFL can do as it chooses

management or owner of the club are responsible for marketing and operating costs, advertises pay sponsorship dollars and fans buy memberships
so in this case the AFL pays for operating costs of GWS and in the Case of the unwanted team P V landys is trying to dump in WA he wants government to pay and bank roll team

and that has nothing to do what i stated in regards to sponsorships and members
GWS making nothing from it.

the Government has been pressing the AFL for a team for decades not the other way around. im not sure om the structure of the team, but to my understanding both AFL and Tasmanian government will fund it & most likely the AFL will take up the management side
i doubt western Sydney councils went begging hand over fist to the AFL for a fresh start up side in the case of GWS
for what its worth the AFL should have used thr southport sharks the already established large club with large following on the GC over the GC suns

I've had that little discussion with FRED on here about AFL 100% should of went to SOUTHPORT SHARKS
had the entire setup was good to go.
and entering as the Gold Coast Sharks, would of been brilliant. Big mistake in my books.
regards to the NRL asking PERTH etc.
(upgrade of stadium and facilities ) i see that as big benefit to the city and the state
not just the NRL
ever been to MUSIC CONCERT on a rectangle stadium compared to Oval.
Rectangle shits on it any day of the week.
NRL have asked for grassroots funding in schools ?? again other sports receive this funding.. NRL is asking ?
Perth agreed to HQ for Perth.. so there is a gift to the NRL.
again Swans, GWS, LIONS have all received big funding for there HQ
besides that does not look like much else, until we see details
again, with AFL demands put forward for entry.
i dont agree with a stadium or HQ
i disagree with 23k seats at 1 billion and ballooning by the day

and needing of a roof. (seems way over the top)

if you look at the AFL expansion teams like GWS and GCS the AFL owns, manages and bank rolls them
WA Premier Cook has come out and stated here is the money and what it will be used for grass roots, stadium up grades and training facilities , but doesnt dont want to manage or run the team. P V Landy has disappeared in to hiding! Thats the only issue Cook has with the league side
the AFL puts money in to grass roots funding in QLD and NSW. why cant the NRL in WA as PVL beats his chest about now being cashed up yet expect other governments to spend money on growing the game
1 billion for a 23k seater stadium is yes a joke yes, but 2.7? 2.3? billion for a 60k seater olympic venue also! government costings and pricing is a whole different topic
the weather in Tassie is cold, miserable and crap 363 days of the year with maybe 2 warm days, a fully inclosed venue would suit the climate and help modernise the city
