close numbers again this year..
Good Work Wook always interesting to see..
So when determining which code is more popular (In Australia) - ratings seem close however AFL smash it on Crowd Numbers, Membership, Revenue, Advertising Dollar People are willing to pay, TV deals.....
Fred 4 million isn't exactly close, and with Gil Not expecting on getting the AFL back into the black for 5years-we might soon have a new leader in that department as well.
I thought there was comment from someone that it was close.
And the other points are still valid. Thank god Rl has SoO I guess to go with their nrl.

As has been pointed out with the NFL and NBA ratings, the most popular sport on TV cannot be determined when comparing 2 sports with different scheduling.
There's certainly no way the NRL can be named winner when they lose most 1v1 comparisons, including all finals.

Who pointed this out? you
Half your games are PTV games.
We win nearly all of them.
The games that are shown on FTA , once streaming is added we win half of them.
We also have 4 of the 5 highest rating games.
Quick Quizz,
If 500 rode the Ferrris wheel and 300 rode the ghost train, which ride is more popular????????????????
If there are 50 horses. 12 are white and 38 are black. what is the more popular colour???????????????????????????????????????????

You need to quantify. Personally, I don't care too much as only a game - but if you are using TV ratings to equant to popularity - the only comment you can make is "On TV RL gets more viewers and therefore is more popular in TV than AFL". This does not mean most popular overall as you are neglecting all the other factors that may contribute to a general statement of mist popular such as crowds, revenue, social media, juniors, playing numbers, leagues, grassroots, spread of interest etc. Some of these may favour rl and others AFL - others another sport - but they are all variables when considering most popular sport in the country. For mine, a game that is not played at any serious level outside NSW/ACT and QLD may struggle to have legitimacy to claim most popular - but hey - that's me.

And on to your ghost train and Ferris Wheel analogy - if there are two ghost trains and one Ferris wheel?

So the NRL can lay claim to being the most popular sport on PTV
The games that are shown on FTA , once streaming is added we win half of them.
Once you provide proof of this you will have a point. But until we see average Thursday and Friday night streaming numbers you've got nothing but assumptions based on averages that include our concurrent games. Therefore they are irrelevant.
We also have 4 of the 5 highest rating games.
And if our GF was the best of 5 games we'd have 5 of the 9 highest rating games. Just because you play your most popular product over 3 games doesnt mean the NRL is somehow 3 times more popular. GF compares to GF. Finals compare to finals. FN's compare to FN's. The NRL have a popular product in SOO but the AFL doesnt have the same format so a comparison of similar products is pointless.
If 500 rode the Ferrris wheel and 300 rode the ghost train, which ride is more popular????????????????
Way over-simplified. If the Ferris wheel was open over the entire week and the ghost train for 1 night the comparison is more difficult. Are they the same price? Do more people go on the ferris wheel because the age demographic of clientele is predominantly younger, and less appropriate for a ghost train? If all factors were similar then we get close to a fair comparison.
If there are 50 horses. 12 are white and 38 are black. what is the more popular colour???????????????????????????????????????????

Maybe black horses are cheaper. Maybe they are easier to train. Maybe they breed easier so there is a greater supply. Seriously, what a stuid comparison

This is dead set laughable!!!!! Let's call a spade a spade shall we. You will deny deny deny anything and everything that does not suit your fumbling agenda. You are incapable of accepting truths in plain sight. You will never ever admit that RL out-rates fumbling no matter what evidence is produced.
Basically you are in permanent and irrevocable denial. You are the Black Knight of this site. You have been battered and bruised! You have been proved wrong at every point. Yet you still scream but but but but but but........coulda, shoulda, woulda, maybe, if.......but but but but!!!!!
Sadly pathetic really!!!!!

having more of one type of horse doesnt make them more popular. Black horses may cost 10 times the price and have minimal availability. They may be snapped up within minutes of becoming available for sale. Point is, unless the conditions are similar, gauging popularity isnt cut and dried
