Hmmm,

Well the country only has about 30 sports events a year with crowds over 50k. And about 27 are the AFL!

If the NRL have big sporting events are they hiding them? Where are they? :-k

oh what a bilthering fuckwit

Vicky kicky has nothing to offer accept an average comp that is in steep decline outside of its traditional states
the twats who follow it in the sthn states are brain washed morons who don't know any better

but up my way
we'll the VFL said look at me ... look at me

some did
most didn't

those that did said...... meh , F this shit

its crap
thats the story .. end of

meanwhile Rugby league has so much more to offer
State games
international games
club games
all stars games

its the most watched sport on TV in this country ... bar nothing
its growing its memberships by 15% year on year on year

it now has the biggest media rights deal in this country .... bar no one
the VFL tried to finish a penyless NRL off ... with its superior spending power
but it failed

how the hell do you think this silly little game from across the Murray will succeed with the NRL now cashed up to the hilt

nuh
as our new CEO has said

Rugby League is the sport of the future , the sport of the next 20 years

the VFL
the sport for yesterday , its had its day
its done

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
The NRL needs rep games. Your regular season has few if any highlights. No blockbusters, no big crowds, no big games, no interest. No following outside 2 states.

The AFLs season has a massive game just about every week.

your most massive games barely create a raised eyebrow in half the country
not a shred of interest

you have tried for 30 years to get Nthners interested
& failed

at least we have something people outside our heartland will watch
1.2 million Melbournains alone in 2012 ... watching our SOO series

thats the equivalent of 30.. Vicky kicky matches in Sydney

but please
continue along oblivious to your pending demise as a sport due to having no dimention or diversity
the VFL's arrogance thinking its woeful club comp is enough
will see its end

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
So do you agree that the nRL needs rep games? I mean like Xman said, your regular season has few if any highlights. No blockbusters, no big crowds, no big games, no interest. No following outside 2 states.

again
who cares what happens in the ****** infested south

what you call a blockbuster
I , like most up here, call a .. who gives a fuck vicky kicky game that no one will watch cos they don't care

people up here would easily rather watch a bottom rung NRL game of little importance
then the biggest vicky kicky game there is

blockbusters ... well theres really only 5 a year

& we have 4 of them

need them
no
we have a growing domestic comp ... it attracted 114 Million TV veiwers for 201 games
not far behind the VFL's 123 Million .. for 207 games

we have more then doubled our membership tally in 4 years
& will double it again in the next 5

we signed a 1.3 Billion dollar TV deal for the next 5 years , the biggest in Ausralian sport
& will sign an even bigger one which will easily be the biggest ... next time round

this on top of internationals + SOO etc etc
we have it all

meanwhile the VFL just keeps serving up its tired format
that is jsut not cutting it up my way
the VFL is sharting to shrivel on the vine ... wither .... evapourate under its lack of diversity

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Was stated that the NRL deal got to a total of 1.2 billion + a little more (stated by the NRL chairman)
TV deal was 1.025 billion (stated by the NRL chairman)
So radio + Kiwi+ Telstra has to equal about 180 million total (simple maths see above two)

You have no sources for most of your figures, Dave. Just accept it or look like more of a fool then you normally do.

NRL 1.2 billion dollars for broadcasting and new media total (fact). That makes it the second biggest deal (fact).

enough of your made up figures Dave.

You're adding the naming rights into the $150-180m deal, so the AFL should be able to include its naming rights $ from Toyota, right? It is the biggest sports naming rights sponsorship deal in Aus, btw.

100m Kiwis hey? Source?

does any one have a break down of the figures, on how much channel 9 are pumping in to the broad cast rights deal.,
nine is only pumping in so much money in to the broad cast rights because they have no other sport to show, loosing the nrl they'd have nothing

I Cant believe it, these AFL geniuses ,who 12months ago were all full of predictions, 800-850K was the max. Here we are, 12months on , not only did we get more - we got more than the AFL. If we can achieve that in just our first contract after breaking free of the News Limited shackles then WHATS NEXT!. After all the humble pie these AFL mushrooms have been forced to eat is it really any wonder why these people are sucking there thumbs and drooling all over there play lunch.

That also includes their naming rights sponsorship, Xman. Include ours as well and we're looking at something over $1.3 billion. One thing's for sure, the nRL did not get more than the AFL.

The Author of the article highlighted that we got more by saying 'a little bit more' . But whats it matter, both of our dicks are about the same size. Mine has been puny for the last 15 years . But when I woke up this morning it was 250% bigger and it just wont stop growing, it gets bigger and bigger - imagine what the future holds.

PS I hope your enjoying your humble pie... pss. Make sure and save the Wookie a large helping.
