The AFL GF is a sellout, so is ANZAC day.
Fact is the AFL have a product that can get over 90k for regular games, without the need to turn it into rep ball. The NRL do not. they have nothing to compare at all.

The decision by Channel Nine to choose Brisbane for its Friday night coverage on a weekly basis has heightened calls for fixed season-scheduling to be part of the next broadcast deal, while boosting claims for a second Brisbane team.

As if the NRL don't get a massive boost in ratings for showing the Broncos live on FN to Brosbane! Imagine the AFL showing collingwood to Melbourne, WC to Perth and Adelaide to Adelaide every FN live!
Shame about the poor sharks and raiders who have no major sponsor due to no tv exposure.
The fact is the NRL let ch9 dictate the playing schedule to maximize ratings, at the detriment of your entire competition. The AFL stand up to ch7 and demand the schedule be shown fairly at the expense of ratings. As can be seen by the ratings for games not involving the broncos the ratings are much lower on average.pussycat wrote:Xman wrote:Read more: http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/rugby-l ... z1p1oZzaNoBRISBANE have been given a huge advantage on and off the field, with the club scheduled to play on Friday night for the opening eight weeks of the competition - a run that is likely to continue until State of Origin.

So? Qld teams draw Better in Qld. That just common sense. How many Swans games aren't shown in Sydney?
What about the Millions the AFL hands out to some of its clubs and not the others - wouldnt that be classified as an unfair advantage - Away to boost there ratings by increasing there competitevness.

Massive drop in viewer numbers from Round 1 to Round 2 in the NRL. Can't blame the weather for that damning stat.

Our TV scheduling changes this year. Let's see the result of this first.Raiderdave wrote:Xman wrote:Read more: http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/rugby-l ... z1p1oZzaNoBRISBANE have been given a huge advantage on and off the field, with the club scheduled to play on Friday night for the opening eight weeks of the competition - a run that is likely to continue until State of Origin.

a fixed schedule in 2013 & a 2nd Brisbane team from 2015
problem solved
neexxttttttt.........
What? Some teams get extra assistance yes. This is usually in extenuating circumstances like port adelaide and their difficulties with the SANFL. It has no impact on their on field performance which is essentially regulated by the draft and salary cap.pussycat wrote:Sydney get the Swans each week, Perth get there team each week and Qld get a Queensland team each week. The only problem arises because the NRL doesnt enjoy the FTA coverage the AFL .
The AFL giving some clubs greater handouts than others means that, basically the team that suits them to win wins. What a competition
