Yet all your games were in prime time and the AFL GF in the afternoon on Saturday. The only games that beat the AFL are RL rep games, not NRL anyway. AFL>>>>>>>>NRL

Think TV wrong again. Failing to count the ONE HD numbers.

When the ONE HD numbers and Foxtel replay numbers are added, the respective grand finals rated as follows according to OzTAM and RegionalTAM:

AFL Grand Final - Capital Cities (2,642,000) + Regional Markets (930,000)

Total - 3,572,000

NRL Grand Final - Capital Cities (2,172,000) + Regional Markets (1,141,000)

Total - 3,313,000

So even with the flawed regionals added, you lot lose again. Now give it a rest will ya. ](*,)

Even with the use of the dodgy figures of yours, origin3 got 3, 736, 000

Why is it surprising a game that represents every single RL fan, and is shown live in prime time, rates well? Neither GF does that. But you can't build a competition or year around SOO. It's a bonus, not the main event.

SOO is prime time. it gets mashed up to pieces by regular home and away AFL games in attendence.

This is the first year the AFL will be live across the country for 4 games per weekend. I cannot imagine this was the case in regional NSW and QLD before this year. This means the AFL will have missed out on a significant amount of regional ratings since this is essentially the major area that is counted.

It also has to be said that the only FTA game the regularly NRL win, and only when regional market is included, is their live prime-time game on Friday night. But have a look why! They almost constantly show the Broncos which are far and away their most popular team with almost double the members and crowds compared to other NRL teams. This gives them an artificial boost when compared to the AFL who share the FN games **** popular and less popular teams quite evenly. The AFL also show Melb v Melb games predominantly, appealing to just over half their heartland city market of 7 Million people. Compare this to the NRL who combine two games that appeal to almost their entire 7Million heartland audience in one time slot.

You NRL fans get a distorted perception of your place in the TV ratings landscape because of one time slot that CH9 have done well to maximise the potential. Unfortunately for you this leaves your two other FTA time slots lagging badly behind because they are delayed, non targetted and single games. Furthermore, teams like the sharks and raiders are suffering because of a lack of FTA prime time exposure because the Broncos are favoured so heavily.

Nsw & Qld NRL regional viewers each get 1 live game. If the NRL does get better regional coverage, And I highly doubt they do, It needs to be remembered that the NRL has many regional sides, the AFL dont.

In my region, and I suspect all, Ch.10/7 Newcastle affiliates broadcast the AFL at the same time.

I posted earlier Sydney TV Coverage Im still waiting to hear Melboure - please - no more excuses - I'll repat if

1. game live Friday nigh,
1. game on delay (2hours) friday night 930-11.30
1. game on delay (1 hour) Sunday afternoon

I already told you Melbourne's coverage:
- 1 hour delay FN at 8.30pm to 11.30pm
- 1 hour delay Sat Afternoon 3pm-6pm
- 30 minites delay Sat night 7.30pm to 10.30pm
- 1 hours delay Sun afternoon 3pm to 6pm

All PayTV broadcasts overlap these times so NONE of them are shown in isolation, dividing the total audience.
