As you have stated the nrl have increased there memberships by 400%. Pretty impressive in its self. What your not smart enough to understand is that the nrl have just started to get serious about memberships. The past 5 years the nrl supporters who go to the games have been taking up the memberships. Hence why the increase is minimal. 16k per game average with 16 teams is 256k and until the nrl reach that point the nrl won't grow crowds. But that time is now! It coincides with millions and millions of $$$$$ in tv money. The nrl have 4-5 teams the have already reached last years figures. Yet the AFL is yet to get 1 team. % growth is the real indicator and the AFL are struggling big time.
Nrl are growing rapidly!!
Classic!
It's you're not your!
Read the thread and youll see Raiderdave claiming memberships are directly related to crowd size yet the NRLs crowds remained the same after a 400% increase in memberships.
:
I have proven my point categorically
that membership increases mean increased average attendances
if
if
the majority of your memberships are not ..... fridge magnet .. bumper sticker memberships
the NRL's are clearly not
the VFL's
clearly are

the NRL will have 10 of its teams surpassing their 2012 membership tallies by next weekend ( season start)
all 16 will surpass their 2012 numbers well before June 30
the VFL will have 1... maybe 2 of their 18 do the same by the time their comp kicks off in 3 weeks
&
I don't think any more then 6 will end up ahead of last years numbers , meaning the VFL's total membership tally for 2013
could be below 2012's
oh dear

But Raiderdave you've claimed that a rise in memberships results in higher attendances for the nRL, but with the increased memberships since 2005 their crowds have remained stagnant.

I totally agree with you and said exactly the same thing earlier. Occasional fans become financial members but the crowds stay the same size! Tell that to Raiderdave.

Lol spelling mistake .... My bad! I'm sure I'm not the only one to ever spell a word wrong!
But Xman you still don't get it. I also think memberships directly relate to crowds. However the nrl is playing catch up with memberships and at the moment the nrl doesn't fall into the (increase memberships, increase crowds) category like the AFL are in. The nrl are getting to that spot this year hopefully. So I would expect numbers to increase dramatically. So Xman in your opinion you don't believe a increase in membership relates to increase crowds? or are you just arguing for the fun of it??

while every other football code crowds have plummeted
the NRL hasn't
why
increased memberships .. proper memberships ... not VFL ones that involve a cat or a fridge magnet

I believe it has a moderate affect on crowd size because what tends to happen is fans who are already going tend to still go but as a member. and i agree with your claim the NRl are changing casual attendees into members, hence their crowd size hasnt changed, theyve just become members. The argument began over Raiderdave's claim the giants will increase crowd size because they have increased memberships. This situation will be similar to to what you said about the NRL, a new club that has just begun and is converting casual fans into members.
As for your spelling mistake, its common but funny when combined with an insult about someone else being an idiot

Shouldn't the nRL's "increased proper memberships" have resulted in increased crowds? Why haven't they?

actually less then ALL 16 NRL clubs
for members in their backyard ... which is the only thing that counts
they have 3500 members in western sydney
2000 less then our lowest club
Penrith
