the AFL strategically schedule matches,
for example.
Suns v Swans is not going to rate that well if shown nationally in it's dedicated timeslot. (by it self)
So they schedule it with another match
Richmond v St Kilda for the Melbourne market > to boost the National total.
there is a reason the AFL do this and they have been doing it for years.
But they will still rate more as an average and a total if they were both played in isolation. This is because neutral viewers will watch many games not involving their side
Only Marginally better not a huge difference.
Especially the day games.
it all goes back to, how many punters will watch all 9 games.
and even when you have the clashing of games, you have the FTA component beamed into home states.
Take out that FTA and your got an excellent point.
Beaming the Suns into their home state or even Brisbane - instead of a Collingwood match or another big club would, I think, mean less ratings for that market. Hence my need to get fox.

it's not about all 9 games. The moment 2 matches are played at the same time both are ratings are compromised. If they could be played one after the other the ratings would be higher. Every Saturday we see this where a game played in isolation gets higher ratings
Isn't this just common sense ?

Kayo for both games would have put the NRL only about 50K behind the fumbles GF rematch
their
GF rematch
hardly comfortable , narrow would be more accurate
& of course today
the 3 NRL games will be watch by more people on STV then the 4 bumbles games

The proof about streaming is easy to find. Examples have been shown this year showing that the NRL completely dominates.
The opening game numbers were shown - Records set by the NRL have been shown - last years final series. total dominance and kayo has announced today that they now have 1m customers so the gap will have only got wider!

we know some examples show NRL ahead. However, his claim was the NRL would be 70k ahead for last night's game. I call BS

The AFL were ahead by 122k without Kayo. He said with Kayo the AFL would only be ahead 50k. 122k -50k= 72k. Therefore the NRL would need to outrate the AFL by 72k on Kayo for his claim to be true.
How is this so hard for you to comprehend?
