The Sun's have just revealed a new logo.
After 14 years it was time for a refresh.
I think it looks good.
Now it's time for GWS to announce new name and reveal smart looking logo. !

Well a team that has never played a finals game deserves the worst logo in Australian sport

I thought I saw where the suns recorded a profit - but that included the distribution of profits from the AFL that clubs get - but suns get more as do other clubs - they were above the average distribution I read on here.

The Gold Coast Suns have reported a comprehensive profit of $5.918m for 2024 on revenue of $63.294m, and with total equity of 0.092m.
Grant Income 30.627m *Sponsorship/Supply rights 9.108m
Membership/Ticketing 9.008m
Merch 0.510m
Other 6.461m
(

so 31 mill given by AFL ) im not sure what Sponsorship / supply rights means ?? 9mill

yea
if they got the " average " distribution from AFL house of 20 million
they post a loss of 5 million plus
The GWS grants a lot more then that ...
oddly
their premiers ... the paddle pop wions would also have lost around 5 million in 2023 despite making the GF
it will be interesting to see what figures they post for 2024 , but id expect similar losses
astounding tbh

I think each club gets a distribution of AFL profits - which the 31 mil is I think - suns get more as too do other clubs not doing so well - some, like Collingwood, get less.. I think someone on here gave what the average distribution was - I agree, if the suns get down to just getting average distribution, this would be an amazing sign - but they’re not there yet obviously. Has their profit improved from previous years?

how is it you know nothing about your sport .... twatball
it stopped giving the same amount to all clubs ....11.... seasons ago
https://www.AFL.com.au/news/445702/the- ... -explained
wealthier clubs get less
plonker clubs get more .... a lot more
Essentially the successful well run clubs prop up & carry the shitbag useless clubs that are either poorly run ... or are in areas where the sport struggles
aka
NSW & QLD
Really the monies the well run clubs are entitled to , is used by AFL house to cover up its deficiencies as a sport , something the NRL refuses to do , telling its clubs ...you'll all get X , we don't care whether you're smaller then other clubs ... get your house in order off the field & be viable
not derpball house tho , no no no ... we will paperwall over your shortcomings by taking money off well run clubs creating mediocrity

Ofc PNG has thrown that NRL policy out the window , they will receive massive assistance
The difference is PNGs extra help will not come from NRL revenues , but the Australian tax payer instead.
So clubs can't complain about money they're entitled to being used to prop their competitors up.
The Tax breaks PNG players will get however will be whole different kettle of fish

For the Lions/Suns -
- Total Rev up 16% to 155.82m
- AFL income up 7% to 60.26m
- Gate/Members up 16% to 35.62m
- Sponsorship up 9.3% to 23.29m
Just over $60mill to these 2 clubs in QLD

Don’t all clubs get grants or dividends from the AFL? I know the suns and giants still get over and above many others but all clubs get their entitlement don’t they? I still think it is unfair that my pies pay most and get less
