Oh really??? Sounds like you are the one to scared.
Rugby League is actually more popular in Perth than Melbourne. AFL fans actually said the same thing about the Melbourne Storm who entered a much tougher more competitive market.
26 years later and multiple premierships with an average home crowds exceeding 30,000. They are still as strong as ever.
Do storm really have an average home crowd of 30000?
no..
last season they averaged over 22k
this season is higher than this.. they have had 2 sell outs.
2023 was 20k,
2022 was 18k
there history around 13k
the storm have never had any sustained time of being down the lower of the ladder. so when they do then it will the time to test there popularity

Cook stating that no government funding for hbf stadium - interesting. And that games could be played at Optus if demand dictates re crowds.
I would imagine the Dockers and Eagles would have something to say about that.
Doubtful NRL crowds would justify move to Optus Stafium anyway.
i doubt Bears will play at OPTUS either. (bar the 1st game of season)
Political 100% did not want to come out and say 65mill and COE etc all at once with stadium..
Stadium is an unknown will happen me thinks in time.
Cook was very clear - no funding for the stadium from government. Also noted what funding there is from government for the team is time limited - can't remember howe many years - maybe 6 - but starts 2025 I believe - maybe 2026 (can't remember).

Yeah, good call Wacko. I reckon the Storm are just about done when they slide down the ladder pal. I'd say pack 'em up and close 'em down now. Get in before the slide to save embarrassment.
I'm sure Peter The Great is hanging off your every word Wacko and he'll punt 'em soon as ya can say Wackjobhasgotnoideaaboutanythingreally!!!!!!!!!

Yep temporary government funding is limited and over 7 years. Doesn’t seem like much government support when you look at it like that. Without early success, I suspect this team will really struggle and could be a financial disaster for the NRL.
The WA Government will provide temporary direct financial support to the club of $60 million over seven years, commencing 2025/26, with $35 million ring-fenced for development, including grassroots. An additional $5.6 million will be provided for match day support and marketing over the seven-year period.

Sounds like the Bears will struggle for on field talent too, with the bizarre announcement that Rugby Union players from the Western Force could be playing for the Bears as well? Does the NRL have the player depth to expand so quickly?
