Yep like you, it’s why I post the FTA figures for each round on a Monday, including as much info on the non traditional markets as I can find. Like you say, the AFL seems to do a lot better in the non traditional markets if you follow the FTA ratings.Fred wrote: Wed Jul 21, 2021 7:03 amBeaussie wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 2:11 pmMore so lack of interest in the non traditional states I would think. Doubt very much there would be many NRL subscribers in those markets. General participation numbers in those markets tell you as much.Fred wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 12:09 pmDo you thInk the terrible FTA ratings for the NRL in non traditional states is due to maybe those who do follow nrl choose to pay for Fox to watch their MRL?
Cheers. I like to see how the non traditional states go for each code. I think that is where the focus should be to know how the game is going. I mean, of course each code is going to rate well in its own traditional market. In this area the AFL seem to do much better than the NRL … I particuarly like to see how games not involving Swans do in Sydney, Storm do in Melbourne and Lions in Brisbane as an indicator as well. Obviously Fox only show national figures and wonder if people who follow a code may watch on fox in those states due to poorer coverage and less shows on FTA. NRL is particuarly poor outside traditional states— often 3000 people in some which is like one person watching with a metre box.
