AFL is the dominant sport in the NT ... whether it is a state or not is irrelevant .... it’s still the dominant sport in that northern part of the country .
Aussie Rules has clubs and teams right across the country ... as shown by the clubs listed. It is played in significant numbers in qld and nsw.
NSW is not completely rl. Australian Rules is the dominant sport in many parts, and on equal footing in others.
It may serve the insecurities of some nrl zealots to define AFL as only being a Southern sport as an attempt to minimise the position Australian Rules have in this country but the reality is it is played all over the country and is Australia’s biggest sporting organisation for a reason.
