He should have. But now it seems the AFL are down to basically nlol and Pete. And both are receiving a shalacking!
Can we recruit new AFL supporters??

yep probably would have got those crowds until the ridiculous decision to close yarra park for blockbuster games at the mcg because of terrorism no one would get run over because its like a carpark getting in and out and if there was going to be an attack they would target the trains

last year the AFL won 35-4 when ALL single games that were played against each other were included. This was finals, Thursday's, Friday's and public holidays.
I am yet to hear a reason why such a dominating win doesnt show which code is more popular on TV

a number of members have stated why...
AFL do not show 5 of there bottom teams on (Thursday or Friday and key nights.
If SOO is on the Wednesday (don't you think there would be an effect on the Friday night game)
NRL also has a 6pm Friday night game.. (taking a further gloss off the Friday night game)
NRL does not always rely on the Friday night game as there is 23 Thursday games this year alone..
AFL Anzac day game is a bigger occasion than the NRL
NRL fans have other games to look forward to other than H&A Season.
(the other punters might want to add more to this)

Plenty of excuses there, none of which explain the massive difference. In fact both codes targwt FTA on Thursday and Friday as their marquee games, with the NRL showing thwir biggest team almost evwry week. Yet they still get flogged

You said LOL that you have never heard a reason. Leeroy just presented you with some - you chose not to hear. It just goes in one Ear and out the other.
There are 200 games, We accumulated more ratings , and we had the top 2 matches and 4 of the top 5.
the other 165 matches ???????????
Each game Friday night has 25% of the match shown in isolation. And don't forget about the recently mentioned pub factor. Many people go to pubs to watch the football Friday night. There 1000 more in Sydney, probably similar in the rest of the state. Don't forget Brisbane . And don't forget clubs as well because there numbers would be similar.
When you combine these things with Leeroys things it just shows how pathetic the AFL is.

so you guys are hanging your hat on:
- more people in pubs watching in NSW and QLD. That's as lame as it gets and would account for a few thousand people per game at most
- the AFL advantaged by having a longer game that doesnt finish until 10.30pm, while the NRL get a massive advantage with a shorter game which finishes earlier and averages close to peak
- the AFL only showing the top 14 teams when the NRL show Brisbane, their only mega-club, almost every week

Add to that the finals were your 8 best teams playing off, against our 8 best teams. And we won them all! That sinks that pathetic excuse
35-4 is a huge thrashing which clearly shows the dominant code. The tally only shows the difference in scheduling
