You need to through that into the mix. Think about a state of thr art sports facility that say a university can utilise, think about a brisbane lions netball team ... chuck in a few netball courts... then you have a state of the art facility that the community can also use. The government chip in because it provides badly needed infrastructure and attractive infrastructure...... and lets say the lions grow in the womens and we have 6 8 10 games a year and hell the suns get a team and play a few games here.

So you see you have something that is prettu attractive and adds to the community .

Fred the state and federal governments have been more then generous with handing out millions for the clubs home grounds as well as money for training venues,he continues to ignore that.

A while ago the was a proposal to build a multi purpose venue and training facility out near the airport similar to how amii park works with the storm, Demons & victory.
But for the lions men's and woman's teams, the roar & possibly a new Brisbane based nrl side

Your view tje Brisbane government can't build a Connie for the growing ladies game, yet can justify $550 million built on venues for the nrlol! One venue will be totally newhave the same capacity and the other will involve tearing down a perfectly good stadium to build a new one
That is 6k bigger when they have anz stadium up the road
On averages both teams continue to only half fill their current stadium

I think the lions will get a netball team and the training facility for the men's team will see the women playing there also. This builds the AFL brand. Bring a uni on board and we have a centr of excellence. Down the track we will have the aflw lions play there, the preseason games there, the netball team, it will be huge, the best. The suns women's team may play there too as the plan is to play cricket at Metricon in summer and hopefully their own side ... another earner for the suns. Too big for the aflw side anyway.

So it is about forward planning .. thinking ahead not just for the now. The AFL do that so well.
