Yes the ratings are dropping, as are crowds. Hardly a surprise given how poor the lions are and the fact its been over nearly a decade. Thier crowds are.dropping to levels we see with the storm. Funny given the storm have barely missed the finals in 18 years, and are again one of the best teams

100% QLD have heaps of expats from other states, the population has increased dramatically

Yeah those Melbournians want support a winning team.. avg 14k most years plus.
pretty good seeming the NRL give them a few Monday night games.

(sporting capital of the world)

usally that would mean supporting all sports.
not just AFL 2 week tennis event and 1 day formula one event.

Well the AFL, A league, cricket, golf, tennis all get the best crowds in Australia. Why are the storm struggling despite massive success? Imagine if they were performing like the lions

tennis would do superb in Adelaide and Brisbane also (if they had it)
Sydney forget it

soccer does great in Sydney.

Cricket does brilliant throughout the country.

Golf lol are you talking about that Tiger woods Tournament that Australia went banana's for.

the Storm are not struggling, that's the norm for Rugby League Match.
its a different viewing spectacle

look throughout the world, NRL has the best Attendances for the Rugby codes.

Come off it. Melbourne has easily the best crowds in Australia, which is why they get the best events

Formula 1 goes for a few days. Spring racing carnival goes for, well much of spring.

But you are right re not attending the storm but surely not every single minor sport... And rl is very minor in victoria, can have a hugh crowd. I mean you could put the superbowl on and get a sell out but not many would attend agame of gridiron... Which does have a national league i hear. And i do wonder which would have more clubs in victoria between the two.

SOO is Part of the NRL

NRL H&A Is very successful (may not be as big as your season as far as crowds go)

but it goes neck to neck with the AFL in other avenues

But the thing is The AFL H & A season is as big as it gets and that is all you can rely on.

see with the NRL apart from H&A season we have SOO and Test matches against other countries.

which at times can take away from our H&A season as these big event games are our big games.

We Just have more to offer, something that I don't think any of you understand..

may you enjoy game 2 of the SOO series.
