Carlton vs Richmond opening game of 2015 rates 1.1m for an opener (which is shyte btw) up against the 50Cricket world cup.

Whenever you are up against Cricket you are going to take a hit.

compare that to the AFL and NRL getting around 1m against each other. The cricket was insignificant for the NRLs markets.

Youve had 5 FTA prime time games so far this year, and only beaten 1m once. The AFL beat 1m for 4 out of the first 6 TH/F nights last year, despite playing the wooden spooner for some of them, and all being against the NRL on FTA

if you knew how shit Carlton were last year youd know 1.1m was a miracle. Carlton were by far the worst team last year and were smashed during every FN game.

Ah yes and your ratings dropped off also by about %9

The NRL was up last year by about %5 and up this year by another 15-20% and that is without NZ which was added last year.

no, Im highlighting your poor start to 2016. You will be ahead overall but only due to more live prime time games compared to last year. But now that we see1 NRL game more often on FNs the NRL has plummeted to consistent sub 1m ratings, well below the AFLs average FN audience for last years first 6 games

of course you'll rise this year, you've increased live FTA games by 50%. You cant say the AFL were down last year because not all ratings were counted from what I can see. Also, the AFL made a huge error by showing the wooden spooner on 1/3rd of their FN games. Cant see that happening again

Its not a poor start..
The games have been poor at times and have not been close games.

Thats right nrl rating higher with more FTA games
Now almost on a level playing field with the AFL
If only we had FTA SATURDAY
goodbye competition

one thing you fail to consider is the AFL only show 1 live game on FTA to every city each round. All the rest of the games are split. Your code has 3 live games to your entire audience per round. The NRL have a far bigger advantage not the other way round

Wrong it works out better splitting the live games for overall ratings

Live game into adelaide maxing the audience
Live game into perth maxing the audience
Live game into melbourne maxing the audience

Then all other states see it on FOX

So on one saturday night you can get
Adelaide v collingwoood
And west coast v sydney

All played live into each state on FTA
its a great plan

And thats what the nrl should be doing.

Its like what the nrl did with two games on friday
Maxing the ratings

But the AFL does it on Saturday and sunday

no, if you count ratings by games, as Wookie does, it works out far worse.

By splitting games into different cities every city only sees 4-5 AFL games. The NRL cities get to see all 8 games. This clearly affects the total figures for the year

Yes but at the same time
Each state is seeing its home team
Therefore guranteeing high ratings
For example
Eagles,crows,port,freo,
Sydney gets fta every week
And melbourne get there big sides
A few games a week.

We only get 3 FTA games
Rest are on fox

We are limited.. the AFL has a better tv model.
Evening knowing some games are overlapped and played at the same time..

For example
West coast v sydney
Perth ratings 200k sydney 80k
Collingwood v crows
Melbourne ratings 350k adelaide 220k
Played at same time
Into 4 different markets
While also being on fox.

Our games have been pretty one sided . But 1st game got 1250 without SKY how that compare?

Bris v warriors got over 1m. Add NZ numbers they would have got a heap more. All games would be over 1m.

youve shown your better teams, not the duds that the AFL showed for most of last years FN games. As for NZ ratings, who gives a shit? We dont live in NZ, we live in Australia. Why not then add all the live apps subscribers to both codes from overseas?
