I believe she had a meeting with the club and Betts said he did not want a life ban but to use this as an oppourtunity to educate this woman. I belive she agreed to do a programme around cultural awareness.

Really? You think that is funny. Someone does something that is abhorent that is by and large called out as such. Rather than take a mob rule approach of burning her at the stake, the club and the player himself see it as an opportunity to educate the woman in question and you see it as funny? Is this your contribution to what could be a sensible and serious discussion? Or is it unless we are slinging mud and disparaging the code i seem to hate with a obessive passion then there is no point in adding to any discussion on the matter.

I loled because it's the usual AFL reply .
Wet lettuce leaf approach .
Ban the racist bitch for 10 years as a lesson .
Might make other racists think twice

I lolled for the same reason aflcrap1 lolled and because of Fred's clear lack of intellect on the matter.
Fred am I right in thinking that a year or two ago the AFL made some kind of statement that racism would not be tolerated and racist fans would be banned and their membership taken off them??? I can't remember for sure but I seem to recall this happening...

I am not sure either. I do support reeducation of the woman. Taking her in, speaking to betts, being shown the way racist comments such as hers impact on others. This is a far more progressive way to deal with it if you want change. You can ban get and leave it at that but I think all that does is build up resentment. I think listening to the port Adelaide indigenous liaison officer talk about this made lots of sense. I may not make good fodder for people who visit a fight club to belittle a code which I get, but I do think it is the sensible and thought out way to address it. If she refused, was unrepentant etc. then yes a ban would be necessary.

So you think the AFL should not listen to the indigenious people at the club or to the player himself ? Just impose what they believe to be the right thing to do. Seems the AFL cant win. I would think by applying what they think is the right thing to do (that might fit with western culture norms) would be imposing their way of thinking without taking into account what the aboriginal people feel is correct.
You could imagine the uproar from you guys if they said they were not going to follow the indigenous advice or the wishes of the player vilified.
Is a slow week i guess with not too much to hate on the AFL i guess.

Apparently over there according to dumbo
Monday falls on a weekend
well spazza there are several of them in fancy dress and it is the end of most football leagues seasons. not every league is like the AFL & NRLOL. most leagues are amateurs so the term mad Monday cannot really happen due to most people having a job to turn up to then, they celebrate it when than can.
not that you'd know anything about the job part & afraid venturing out in to reality to the real world & being around a football club

you really do struggle with the real world dont you spazza!
mad monday is a figure of speach! at the end of a clubs season, they pick a day and get on the drink together & dress up in stupid costumes
eg like that game in rocking ham. the bloke that is wearing his bed sheets with eye holes cut out in them along with several of his other mates are dressed in costume.
see it really isnt that hard

I can see how you would accept that as fine .
Racism is rife in the AFLOL
Especially this year .
So another little incident like that would not be a concern

Lol
You are just to dumb to see it
When there's a problem with racism ...why would a player dress up as a KKK member .
Unless he saw nothing wrong with that ...just as you seem to think .
Players dressing up is fine .
All weird & wonderful costumes .
But when you dress up as a figure that is blatantly racist then just wow .
