Lol that shows nothing. you are proud that your failders have sold out twice in a tidy stadium in 15 years And they were finals too haha. Man you're really streching. Clinging on to anything. Admit your club is shit. Such a rookie club. Poor attendance, poor TV views, poor membership and poor players.

Jeez, Raider! You are a source of so much fun!

Are you seriously suggesting the GIANTS will never sell out Spotless (24,000 seats)? !!!!

Blimey! You really have never had the measure of AFL, have you?

Well, all we have to do is wait until they do (which WILL happen) and you're going to look like a proper goose, won't you!

Then you will really go off your tits when the open northern section of the stadium is infilled with new stands to increase the ground capacity.

I'm almost breathless anticipating your rage!!!

I think anyone in world sport would go WTF how stupid is that

but to a AFL person I guess this is normal...
What GWS is doing bringing the game to a smaller region like Canberra is a very successful growth strategy, and not without precedent.

North Melbourne plays some games in Hobart.

Hawthorn takes four games each year to Launceston.

In fact, there is a push for the NRL to emulate the AFLs innovative strategy. Here is a Sydney Morning Herald article, May 12, 2015, urging the NRL to do exactly what GWS is doing.

I had a Read,
Its a great idea as it states for members extra awareness / cash etc.

but I just think, you are ripping off the fans.
No Competition in the world does it.

The odd game here and there is fine, but taking away 4 home games out 12 suxs.

Why the System may work for the NRL too, I am just not a fan.

Griffith is wrong.
the NRL needs to Expand. it can do it it has the funds / the players
and it will do them good.

one team in Brisbane for 2 million and growing (hello)
NZ one team (where players are breeding like Rabbits
Perth ( when games are played there, are well received ( strong Potential)

I'm not sure the NRL can expand, Leeroy.

I'm going to crunch some numbers here. I' m not an expert on this (Wookie knows more about this than me), but I'll have a crack and do my best.

The NRL receives a cash inflow of $925m over 5 years. That's annual income amounting to $185m per year.

They dispense $7.5m per year to each club. That' an annual outgoing of $120m.

Balance remaining each year, $65m.

That $65m is really stretched supporting the very weak clubs: Titans, Knights; and Wests and StGeorge (I think).

It costs about $20m per year to start and properly resource a new football club.

Now we are beginning to get a ballpark idea of the financial restraints inhibited the NRL's expansion plans.

I will humbly stand corrected if other posters can produce a better Income & Expense Statement than my effort.
