Sooker & the Derps & Misses efforts this year have been near embarrassing of course 8-[
so.......
that'll be it for the football codes for 2014
Rugby League will add another fullhouse in October with its Grand Final & remain the only football code to have filled major stadia in Sydney in 2014
Cricket being the only other sport with the ashes test in January
these 2 being Sydney & NSW's only sports that matter really

over & out
, it's decent following week in week out,
you call 30K people out of 5 Million a decent following do you ? 8-[

good one you stupid ***** :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/
some of the NRL rounds only produce total crowds of less than 100k, and that's with some of the games from interstate. Round 21 this year had less than 70k attend an entire round of NRL in sydney from 6 games. So you're claiming 70k is decent but when the swans get crowds in the high 30's it shows the sport doesn't matter?

Thanks for the update dave. It's quite enlightening stuff really and just goes to show the low level of support for the other codes in this wonderful city. I think tho ur overestimating swans support at 30k and underestimating the AFL as a novelty freak show in sydney. I'd say there's about 5k or more different folk each fortnight who turn up to see something different, weird, odd, out of the norm, somewhat like a circus act, something which they've not some before and will likely not do again for the next 5 years.

The swans cwowd are renowned for their lack of knowledge and general understanding of the game dave. We got 5 million people here and many have a curious and self important nature. They wanna try it out so they can say "been there, done that" and show off at work on Monday morn.

So essentially I'd be dropping the swans avg real crowd/support to about 16k.

Trust me, I've been to heaps of swans games. I know the level of footy smarts they got and it ain't pretty stuff. "Ref" they yell. and often they're consumed with their phones updating where they are at while the game is on the line  trust me folks, they've not been named the Chardonnay sippers in footy folk lore for nuttin

Since when is "footy smarts" a sign of following? Theyre there, they've paid their money, stood in the cold, endured the sydney traffic and transport, ignore all the other distractions sydney has to offer, and gone t the game.

Meanwhile the Tigers played in front of 5k last night.

Spot the difference?

yes on reflection E
the Swines would have about 16K fans who have an inkling about the fumbles & feebles

the rest at SWines games are the eastern suburbs set who know nothing of .. or care about .. & don't even watch the bumbling crap as they are too busy sipping Chandor bubbly & checking facebook to update their status's
" hey homies .... at the Sydney Swifts game yaaayyyyyy " :\: :\: :\:

the difference would be about 25mm of rain you dribbling fucktard    :_<> :_<> :_<> :(/ :(/ :(/
plus the internal issues at the Tigers
fans have had enough of the bickering & a team that is quite obviously in turmoil & have put their cue in the rack for 2014

why would anyone turn out in weather like last nights to watch their team when they know they aren't going to have a go & will be beaten by 40
seriously
fumblers are without doubt

the dumbest chunts on the planet ... :(/ :(/   :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>

.No, rl fans are the softest.

5k is a disgrace for any heartland team

So rl is in turmoil then dave ... As you point out. Titans worried about the impact AFL is having, tigers inner turmoil.... Low crowds overall and heartland areas diminishing as not only sharing with union as it always has but now AFL

Show me a club from any sport in Australia that can fill an 80k stadium. Don't give me this shit about the gws v swans game either. Show me any NRL local derby game that has filled ANZ this year

Big games still to come for the AFL in Sydney with Richmond and the finals series fast approaching. We all know this city loves a winner. Rest assured the big crowds for AFL in Sydney will continue to grow.

the australian national rugby league team doesnt even play at anz as they wouldn't even be able to fill the bottom tier

68k is a great effort considering only 5k turned up at the tigers game earlier in the day lmfao
