Actually the AFL banked 16.5 million. while providing more funds to state and regional leagues than the NRL, while returning more funds back to the clubs than the NRL, and paying for more infrastruture than the NRL. Most importantly though, the NRL was trying to create a future fund and NEEDED that 50 million, the AFL already has an 90 million future fund, plus infrastructure reserves. Which is why anyone that uses profit post distributions instead of before is an idiot. if the league needed more money, it would have spent less on distributions.
