The material ive linked shows quotes supporting my case from Leigh Matthews (Brisbane Director), and the the auditor of the Brisbane Annual Report. Suppose you tell me what expert advice you and TLPG are relying on other than your own guess work.
It's you with the guess work. At no stage was the term "basketcase" actually used in that material. The only person who is using it is you. It is your opinion, and your opinion only.
And you in other threads. Seems to be your opinion too, when it suits that is.
Crackers comment from the tickler thread: "I don't think they are a basketcase any more than the Lions are, Leagueiscrap"
So what is it crackers are lions basketcase a or not

Supporters of the embattled Brisbane Lions are on the point of revolt, with a members' survey showing high levels of dissatisfaction with the club’s leadership and direction.
The only concern there is the vested interest the new boss has in the new venue in a clear case of a conflict of interest. I think the members polled (0.03 percent approx of the whole membership base by the way!) were reacting to that if anything, especially as a large percentage in spite of that low number wanted the Lions to get out of the Gabba.
Having said that, a new board takes time to break in - especially after one that apparently did a lot of damage.

The_Wookie wrote:Ill come back when you learn reading comprehension. I never said that that material used the word basket case. I said that the Brisbane situation fills the dictionary definition of basketcase.
"A country or organization that is in severe financial or economic difficulties, especially one that is unable to pay its debts:"
Given that you then said that if Brisbane were in dire trouble, the AFL would be intervening (which they are according to other material i posted, which quotes LIons Director Leigh Matthews) as well as already bailing them out and according to media "staving off insolvency". The auditor has also said the lions need the AFL guarantee to keep running.
Im not the one making shit up here. And your willingness to drag the basketcase discussion across three different threads now is piss poor by a moderator.
The Lions are making more revenue than their debt, so it most certainly can pay it's debts. So your definition (and it is yours and no one else's) does not fit. Let me ask you something. Do you think that Australia is having severe financial difficulties or economical difficulties? Are we living in a basketcase country?
The AFL only provides a grant at present. If they were bailing the Lions out they wouldn't be giving them a measly $11 million. They would be giving them a lot more.

You continue to completely ignore the Lions revenue base. Until you acknowledge it, your view is inevitably incomplete. Any media report you are relying on is equally ill informed. The term "staved off insolvency" is scaremongering. $1 million doesn't even got anywhere near the accumulated debt. A bail out of a proper proportion would have covered the entire debt, surely?
Basically, you are oversimplifying a complicated issue and misrepresenting it by ignoring factors that render your use of the Oxford Dictionary definition as inaccurate both in fact and in opinion.

I didn't dismiss the official reports. I questioned The Wookie's interpretation of those reports. I dismissed the media reports because they have holes in them, including ignoring the Lions revenue like I said.
I never dismissed the media reports on the recent racist row. Essendon took the correct action against their fan, and I hope by now the Bulldogs have found the foul fan who besmirched the good name of Whitten Oval. I just make that statement to defend the general comment and any further comments on that should be on the appropriate thread.

Where? Where is that in the figures provided by Leagueiscrap? The accumulated debt is only $12 million.
