hmmmmmm

40K watched them on TV in Sydney .............40K , for a derby .... for the battle of the buttplugs or whateva fucking stupid name its got

meanwhile our smallest team in Sydney , penrith ... attracted 250K on Sunday for a woefully unattractive game against the Titans

the swines are LAST
dead last

for support in Sydney you cock molesting minda ..
"Dead last" but have lead the way for crowd support and memberships for 18 years straight. You sad inbred ****** Dave

The Swans dominating support in Sydney really is a sensitive issue for the nRL bogans.
 Crowd support and memberships.

Lets see. The swannies have an avg of 27 odd k? About half or more of those are folk really dont give two stuffs about the game itself, they actually dont know the rules and have never kicked a sherrin  Seriously folks, this is the situation and it is clearly highlighted by the ridiculously low number of television viewers in Sydney i.e diddly squat. If there was real passion for the game in this city people would watch the game week in week out, when they were unable to get to the game. Fact is they dont. No, for most sydneysiders the game is a spectacle, an oddity, something to 'go and see' like when the circus is in town, something different to do, something they may have never seen before... ... something to smugly tell the folk in the office of a monday morn. This also goes for the memberships, we're in a very wealth dominated city where folk living near the scg have momre money than they can poke a stick at, they're literally wasting it on their memberships i.e. picture the office kitchen on a sunny February morn when Digby, the office manager, is busying himself getting coffee as Rod, a younger fitter sportier lad, walks in. "Hi Digby, how's it going?" "Oh good Rod, I'm well... (awkward silence as Rod fidgets in the cupboards looking for his mandarin before walking toward the exit door) ... ...Oh and Rod?" "Ah yes digby?" "I was online this morn, I got 2 gold swans memberships for myself and Prudence :D " "Awesome mate, you'll be able to see goodes in action!" "Hahah yes Rod, it'll be good for sure"...(awkward small silence) "Ah no I meant goodes, the player Digby" ... ... "There's a player who's name is 'goodes'? Ha that's cool. Seeya in the meeting later Rod"

But on a more positive note. I do believe it is growing slowly in this city. The Chardonnay sippers children are sometimes sent out to auskick...but without any real passion shown by these youngsters parents many of these youngsters will simply drop out, if that is their folks havent already pulled them out to put them into yoga classes instead.

I give it three+ generations before Sydneysiders show the support Xman, stewie and co actually believe there is now. Such is their ignorance, we must laugh

I don't think anyone would expect the same support for AFL as for nrl in Sydney ? Sydney is an nrl city ... To compare the two codes support and thinking they should be similar is ridiculous I would feel. I think to get the crowds and tv ratings they do (and do those tv ratings mention include foxtel and smart phone) is pretty good. If AFL was doing as good or half as good as nrl I would be amazed ... I think that would be a great sign got the AFL

Fairly well said there phelpsy. And another pies supporter I see. Seems as though the pies supporters are the most intelligent of the AFL clan here at TF. With Essendon supporters coming dead last for intelligence

Sun TV #NRL #NRLPENGLD Nine 328k (Syd 173k Bri 155k) GEM 36k (Mel 22k Ade 4k Per 10k)

173k for NRL in Sydney on Sunday afternoon

The AFL rated 40k on FTA and probably 40k on Foxtel, for a total of 80k on Saturday arvo, so not far off half the NRLs ratings.

Add to that the AFL got the second highest attendance of the Easter weekend and the swans have more members than any NRl club

So, Whats that about the swans popularity in Sydney? :-k

Who let Raiderdave out for the weekend....he needs his meds!!!!! What a pack of arse bandits these bumsniffers are, so completely cut off from reality its not funny!!! If no one cares in Sydney why has the Swans got the BIGGEST membership of ANY code in Sydney, why is GWS not the LOWEST in Sydney (its not its Penrith u know RL hartland), why does the Swans get the highest attendances fir any club in ANY code in Sydney, why does GWS not get the lowest (they don't). Why is both the Swans and GWS the most well sponsored in Sydney (and they are). Didn't the Swans play in front of 23k wherese the nearest NRL player played in front of 20k even tho ANZ is a shit stadium, poor seating, shit access (been there hated it MCG and Edihad shit all over it as does the SCG). You blokes will never admit the truth even when ur shown to be wrong. Like a naughty little boy stamping his feet and holding his breath. The only place RL handball is played by juniors is Syd and even now its under threat.
AFL the future is so bright we have to wear shades...
RL being 3rd behind soccer is not so bad....you can always expand to the Central Coast of NSW because no where else wants it!!!!

Wow, swans 4 Eva, which 19th Century lockup psychological institution have you come from? A chill pill man, take one. It's like you've just entered a house where a family gathering is taking place and no one knows who you are and youve started yelling like a mad man about your long lost cousin and your recent operation to remove gangrene from your foot. Theres little sense to it all and its neither becoming nor attractive.

Now, introduce yourself, speak more eloquently and... try again.

No Prizes for seconds....sick of reading endless posts of RL followers predicting the imminent demise of AF, anyway the way everyone is posting here I thought it was expected not many sensible comments just RL calling anyone sticking up for AF fuckwits. I wouldn't tollerate that in my house. Anyway if ur happy with such bear faced lies I'm off.

Who said I was gone for good slippery eelofwest, I'm off means I'm going to bed not retreating. Perfect example of NRL twisting and distorting. You wouldn't know the meaning of hard or know about passion thats why the Swans fans thru relocation, years at the bottom and the newspapers and RL wankers like urself doing and throwing everything at them to try and destroy them just hasn't worked and have 30k+ members wherese you Parra Flops have trouble getting 12k and 10k to a game. So just like the Swans I will be around. Just wasn't going to argue last night. Unlike Parra followers I have a job.

Yep you really have no idea do ya.

Swans still making a loss even after a premiership year. And had to sell one of its assets in 2011 to keep the balance sheet in the clear.

Eels have a massive leagues club just like the panthers as a backstop and if you checked the reports on the Eels you would realize that your statement looks really silly.

Wow this guy might be worse then Xman, he cant even get his facts straight....
