The nRL need all the time they can get to fill thier GF. If there was a grand final between two small nRL teams like Canberra and North Queensland, they wouldn't have a hope in the world of selling out within 1 week.

So you got 107,999 & the stadium held 120,000 back in 1999.

So you're not denying that the nRL would fail to sell out their GF if there were two small teams like the ones mentioned above were playing? Safe move

of course puss for brains
they'd sell it out like always .. its the biggest annual sporting event in Sydney by the length of the straight at randwick
we have 14K stadium members
& 20K corporates who don't care who's playing for starters...

& if the Raiders made a GF .. 30K would travel up from Canberra for the weekend ( its a holiday on the monday )
& the Raiders would have 20K Sydneysiders who'd be raiders for a day no probs

this GF you've put up
sellout .. on its ear

Whilst I still don't agree with you that it would sell out "as always", I appreciate that you just wrote "Sydney" and not Australia in regards to the biggest annual sporting event. Because we all know that Australia wide it's the AFL Grand Final.

Also LOL at you boasting about having 14k members! A good 20 years behind the AFL there.

wow
taking dumb to new levels is spewie
attendance wise its Sydney's biggest you wombat
unlike origin since 1999.... the NRL GF has only ever failed to sellout once
it has event status , no one cares whos playing .. they go anyway.... origin is getting to this level ... it isn't there yet.
for Sydneysiders
its the NRL GF first
then Origin when its in Sydney catching it
then .... daylight ... seriously .. nothing for a mile n a half ... then some other NRL 3rd .. a big all Sydney prelim final ??

it is also arguably the biggest annual event in every town city & hamlet throughout NSW & QLD as well
arguable because origin . the series is massive ... stunningly so.. its outta control
but either or either is the biggest sporting events across the nthn states by miles
making them also the biggest in this country

both the VFL & NRL GF's need " conditions " to get maximum ratings
the sides playing are important for maximum TV audiences

origin needs no such conditions
in the coming years the starting mark for TV ratings for origin will be ... 4 million .. then add the plus as like I said .. its outta control
neither codes GF can consistently command that without certain teams playing
making Origin Numb 1 nationally .. no ifs .. no buts

& the 14K members ... are for ANZ stadium....nothing to do with the NRL.. you complete D head

It's far from an event if 2012 is anything to go by, it's as boring as bat shit! True that the sides playing are important to tv ratings, but so is the time that the GF is played at, agree? The only reason origin rates that high is because of its timeslot. Play the AFL Grand Final in the middle of July on a cold Wednesday night and see its rating soar above 5 million.

The part where the NRL GF would struggle to sell out.

Why would it when it sold out for the Broncs v the Storm, the Tigpies v the Cowboys, Parra v the Knights, East's vs Warriors, Manly v NZ Warriors, Manly v storm and so on?

Which teams are smaller than Manly, Easts, the Cowboys and Warriors in Sydney?

Canberra played in GF's years ago and had no problem selling them out, they'd do the same now if they ever made it.

There's a lot of NZers in Shitney. If it were a Cowboys v Storm GF, it would probably fail to sell out.

Really?

It was a Broncos v Storm GF not too long ago and it sold out.
