yes ... 16K difference
I noticed that a game between a regional side & a capital city side in the NRL ... rated nearly as a much as an AFL game between 2 capital city sides
The Swans vs Dockers game was only broadcast in Sydney and Perth. Add the totals for Sunday afternoon AFL nationwide and it's a huge difference. Not the 16k you'd like us to believe.

The only statements I've made is to call you out on what I considered to be ridiculous comments - ie assuming that everyone is being counted in the stats you are referring to. I keep proving you wrong with simple reviews of what you link. I don't need proof for that. Nine, Seven and ABC1 are not being counted today, according to your link (and now that I think of it maybe Ten isn't either, as TDT could in fact be the local version of Ten's third channel - to go with the main and OneHD).
The article said digital counting would join the existing annalong counting from the end of 2008. It also mentioned that there was only 2 digital stations in Tasmania, TDT and ABC2
The existing counting is local only and not included in the national figures - as previously pointed out!

TLPG, You seem to be changing tack whenever your wrong.

You initialy said Regional TV ratings are only done on the Eastern coast - wrong
" " Regional TV figures don't include Tasmania - wrong
" " Regional TV figures don't include WA -wrong

And surprise, surprise Beau The Origin figures for 2 & 3 are there also.

its about 700K all up on Sunday nationally for the 2 AFL games .. an average of 350K

the NRL's average for Sunday arvo was ....... 500K

I have never changed tack. Every comment there is right, not wrong.

Edit - removed slander of me by Raider.

The post I deleted wasn't yours, Pussycat. It was Raider's.

You are the one arguing with facts, not me.

Only one game of AFL was broadcast on Sunday afternoon nationwide on Channel 7.

Sydney and Perth got Swans vs Dockers whilst all other markets got Lions vs Cats. That massive difference in viewer numbers for Sunday afternoon cannot be ignored. The NRL was thrashed by the AFL in the tv ratings. You simply cannot deny that FACT!

it wasn't broadcast to a couple of country towns :?
it was broadcast to the biggest city in Australia ... & Perth

combined population of over 6 Million
& it could only attract 159K veiwers 8-[

the Buyers direct channel had more people watching

& anyway
the regional veiwership for the NRL game would have had it with more veiwers then the 2 AFL games put together

Nationwide which the advertisers and buyers as you put it look at, the AFL thrashed the NRL in the tv ratings on Friday night, Saturday afternoon/night and Sunday afternoon. It's no surprise that the AFL broadcasting rights have increased in value each and every time they have been negotiated. Broadcasters don't pay $1,253 Billion for a product that does not rate nationwide. Surely you can agree on that point.

Nationwide .. ?

all of them.. or they certainly are starting to do so now
as far as I'm aware people who live in regional areas are part of the
" nation "

they have money .. they buy things
the days of saying they are not considered will end when the NRL cracks a massive TV deal off the back of their Love of Rugby League

When it comes to broadcast rights and negotiations, you and I both know the TV networks with headquarters in the capital cities are only interested in the almighty capitals.

No
I know that has little to do with it
& we duped ourselves out of the $$$ we were worth in our last rights deal as a result of news ltd's half ownership of our game
nothing to do with regionals

this impediment with not exist this time round
