Is rugby league the No. 1 sport in Australia?

Yes.

It matters to millions of people and I think the opportunity is to grow this thing INTO the best it can be, which is the No. 1 code. I want to keep it that way and develop this great game into something we're all really proud to be a part of, be it as an administrator, sponsor, fan, parent or young boy or girl who plays rugby league.

well, at least he's positive. I'd love to know how he is coming to this conclusion though since the NRL lose every comparison.

Ask them xman, it's your story.

I already told you the stations share with each other coverage and I'm quite sure there are a lot of TV shows being shown on various channels in NZ that are filled with Aussie content, just like the today show aye.

TV money is TV money xman, Sky TV is part of Murdicks Foxsports who happen to share with ch9. Have a quick think about it.
ch9 pay the NRL money for the TV right in Australia. Channel 7 pay more for the AFL TV rights. I think we can see which is the most valuable product in Australia Parra.
Ch 7 paid the VFL 450 Mill for 4 VFL games a week
Ch 9 paid the NRL 450 Mill for 3 NRL games a week

yep
we certainly can see which is the more valuable product in Australia .. can't we

7 paid less because all of its games are simulcasted on Foxtel. They also paid less because the AFL demanded live coverage. Imagine how little 9 would have paid for the nRL if they had to show all 3 games live (yes that means only one Friday night game) and had these games simulcasted on Foxtel as well.

Our freedom stolen, against our will. For 15 years we've been raped and bludgeoned by News Ltd. But just 12 months later and weve floated back to the top - back to where we belong.

How the fuck did you come to that conclusion?

The nRL lost the ratings by 10 million to the AFL.
The nRL lost in aggregate attendances by over 3 million to the AFL.
The nRL lost in total club memberships by over 400,000 to the AFL.
The nRL lost the media rights deal by over 200 million to the AFL.

AFL... King of Australian sport.

Even that bias cretin, who writes for the AFL, admitted as much. When he had to break the NRL into parts, regular season and rep football, to paint the AFL in more favourable light. And the sad part is people like yourself who believe his dribble.

I can't wait for another season of butt kicking(or in your and Xmans case butt kissing)

RL won the TV ratings by 8 million
the VFL's attendances continue to plummet ..... 15% down in just 2 years .... & they'll continue to fall & be under 30K a game in 2013
the NRL's memberships continue to climb by 15% .. year on year
the NRL's media deal will beat the VFL's by up to 100 million by the time its completed.

VFL.... Numb 2

The AFL seem to have a history of seperating/manipulating ratings to try and place themselves in a better light

Money makes the world go round, and since the commission took over its coming down in bucket loads

The thing with some of these gimps like spewie and Xman they can not bring there tortured minds to reality that RL beat them easy in TV ratings and they even had simulcasting.
cumulative audience of 134 million viewers, without including a further 12 million in New Zealand.

That is our cumulative TV ratings for 2011, we are up 10% for rep football and 1% on the NRL season.

These brain dead zombies cannot come to grips that the NRL handed them a arse wooping again in 2012 and our TV/media deals show that much..... =D> =D>

The same report says that in 2011 the AFL had 122 million viewers and RL has 134 million. But the Australian report says the AFL had 113 million and the NRL had 113 million. The second report is not adding in AFL preseason or RL test games. So if we extrapolate the AFL data (113 million (australian)/122 million (smh) (2011) into 2012, then we are getting 133 million for the AFL (with preseason data) in 2012 (extrapolate 122 million from the Australian report). If you then add Tbox and phone data, this would put them well and truly around the 150 million viewer mark. But this is all speculation similar to your data eels and also fails to consider that the AFL is simply more viewed then the NRL by a long way and not just on a match by match basis.

Oh for the record Eels the NRL season was up 0.037% and overall RL had a viewership rise total of just over 1% (inc SOO). Not it matters much it is just that you keep stuffing up your stats and numbers.
