How long will it continue in prime time after the latest disaster last Saturday night?
A paltry 136,000 tuned in to see Australia defeat the Poms.

Terrible result for rugby league coverage in Melbourne one would think when prime time coverage of a rugby league international is smashed by the movie High School Musical and Great Comedy Classics on Channel 7, New Tricks on the ABC and the Mask of Zorro movie on Channel 10.
I wonder how much longer Eddie will persist in taking such ratings hits in such a large market.

If only the swans could rate 136,000 in Sydney....
Ratings figures for Swans' matches this season show the Saturday night games on Channel Ten average 137,501
http://www.smh.com.au/news/AFL/Burying- ... 19227.html
Remember that was back in 2005 too. Audiences increased again in 2006 on the back of the Swans premiership.
That said, looking at these figures we can safely say a Swans game rates better in Sydney than the Australian national rugby league team does in Melbourne. Go figure....AFL telecasts in Sydney have risen 37 per cent in since the Swans premiership in 2005

1,000 more, and the Swans have been shown in Sydney for 25 years??
Is this a "disaster" for Channel 10 considering that it is a year long committment compared to a few RL games being shown?
Your figure from 2005 is inflated by a couple of semi final games that significantly dragged up the average.
Your figure for 2006 includes all swans games including the Sunday arvo. written by an AFL stooge with no real evidence ( numbers ).
I have shown here many times that Sat Night Swans games have rated less than 120,000 during 2006 with links to the Tribal mind website...
BTW - Was the RL test live in Melbourne or not??
I have read that in fact the game was on at 9.30 on some forums...
Don't forget to post the figures from the final on Monday which I know is LIVE into Melbourne...
2 Questions for you...
Any comments on 1 million watching the NRL final in Melbourne as opposed to 700,000 watching the Swans final in Sydney..
Why did the GF Swans audience drop 30% in Sydney this year...

Rugby league coverage smashed again by British comedy re-runs from the 60s.Willis 21 wrote:http://blogs.smh.com.au/sit/archives/20 ... ind_5.html

Not really a fantastic result for the Australian national rugby league team who were playing a final one would think. The ABC's election coverage in Melbourne pulled 265,000 viewers last night, which contributed to a healthy audience share of 21 per cent for the ABC on Saturday.
