Collingwood has extended its lucrative uniform sponsorship with Emirates and will earn an estimated $10 million from the airline over the next five years in a deal that highlights the growing gap between the AFL’s haves and have-nots.
The Emirates deal will help Collingwood top $20 million in combined sponsorship and merchandise revenue for the 2014 season, a feat only previously achieved by Essendon and Richmond in the AFL.
Last year, AFL premier Hawthorn banked $19 million in sponsorship and merchandise revenue, Essendon earned $20.1 million and Richmond led the AFL with $22.9 million -

many of the AFL clubs raised more revenue out of sponsorship, than many of the NRL clubs raised from football operations revenue eg crowds, sponsorship, membership, gate takings, food and beverages. nearly matching what the NRL commission received 25,726,950 (http://e-brochures.com.au/nrl/annualrep ... t-2013.pdf)

total money raised from football operations

as the NRL clubs do not publish annual reports for every one to see. there isn't much more to go on, but as it shows NRL clubs are far behind the AFL clubs when it comes to brand and marketing ability

so NRL is the more dominate game in the NSW and QLD in the first and third biggest markets in Australia, but companies don't want to know them, cant blame them, empty stadiums and declining crowds, but thats ok they have their pokes to pay most of their their bills

How about you post something like a source for all your claims! AFL combined debt was 95 mil in 2013 but you have claimed 115 mil this week 150 mil only last week - at least be consistent when you BS - and who are these teams that are technically insolvent - the ONLY club that has been spoken off as being technically insolvent is Brisbane which is due to Federal Government pulling funding on their new training base - yet you claim CLUBS where are the sources? And this bank guarantees are you saying that the NRL doesn't do the same? How about Newcastle, Gold Coast, West Tigers? Plenty of NRL clubs with their backs to the wall! Even the Raiders group suffered a down turn in their finances last year - pot meet kettle!

Raiderdave has stated that he has provided the links previously. So it should not be an issue to provide them again.

I looked at the NZ AFL website. You just chose to ignore my comment on that. Now stay on topic.
