Oh I see. Silly me read the actual article. Seems like some editorial license to get people into read ... Not unusual. And simply states hypotheticals ... Based on testing. The article does highlight what a diverse range of athletes there are in AFL. You must get over this obsession. My partner today commented how up themselves the Americans seem at the Olympics ... I'm wondering if it is that same type of feeling you have to AFL. Damn AFL, think they're so high and mighty ... Who do they think they are !!!!

Obsession. :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/
I take great delight in pointing out the bizzarro delusional world fumblefans live in .

Show me any other sport that goes to the lengths that AFL do to try to talk up their players.

that article was a hoot ,especially the dildo/bolt pic.
the funny thing is they are shown up as nowhere near the athletes that they are made out.

Here is one of the best..
& please show me where a RL journo has written anything like this...

Beating league players at own game
By Robert Shaw
July 5, 2006 Fox Sports

WE have seen a cross-pollination from the two rugby codes, but no players have moved directly from the NRL to the AFL or vice versa.

Pivot ... Adam Goodes could star in the No.6 jumper. Pic: Nick Wilson
In my mind, there is no doubt, given time and education, that AFL players far exceed their northern neighbours in the capacity to not only change codes but improve rugby league.

Here's how they could achieve an overall advantage.

Using superior aerobic capacity from players in all positions, the AFL team could sustain a higher intensity for longer.

The kicking skills of all players (not just selective kickers) would enable attacking launches from any point of the field where the AFL boys would control territory through precise accuracy.

The kicking game across the field to a wing would destroy the small rugby league fullbacks, with the AFL men controlling the air with their aerial skills. Constant aerial and kicking skills would be enough to keep the league boys on the back foot for 70 minutes.

Superior running skills, especially of our big men, would create more attacking options out wide.

And with the concept of "total football" the AFL players would have greater versatility in positioning.

Ball-handling skills across the players would enable the ball to be transferred through the hands of all, making a more expansive game plan possible.

Our second rowers and props could constantly adjust their positions due to their ball handling skills.
After the six-tackle count, the kicking could be done by any player due to the two-sided kicking skills of all players making defence against the kicking game difficult.

The similarities of AFL players would enable them to rotate positions constantly. AFL men are used to this and tactically it would be an edge.

They could also rotate players better through high demand positions to maintain intensity.

Any lack of size of AFL players would be nullified by increasing the intensity and running demands of the game through quick ball and hand movement.

Kicking effectively for touch or after penalties would decrease attacking distance for the AFL and increase it for league when they are in attack.

League players would counter strongly with their front-on assault and tackle count.

It is not unusual for a NRL player to make 30-35 full-on, front-on, tackles in a game; if an AFL player has eight tackles, he's been outstanding.

The league players have a lower centre of gravity and good pace so their ability to evade tackles, and lay off a punishing ball to their centres, would be critical.

AFL players would have great difficulty controlling this phase. The injection of players from rugby backgrounds such as Lewis Roberts-Thomson and Jason Akermanis would alleviate this somewhat.

Lower centre of gravity also allows for power in the tackle and the leg drive would be something the AFL players would find very uncomfortable, and they would find laying effective tackles an issue.

So who are our AFL players who could hypothetically convert to rugby league and take on the might of New South Wales or Queensland?

Fullback: Andrew McLeod Wings: Anthony Koutoufides, Matt McGuire Centres: Brendon Goddard, Lewis Roberts-Thomson Five-eighth: Adam Goodes Halfback: James Hird Props: David Hille, Barry Hall Hooker: Luke Ball Second row: Jonathan Brown, Mitch Hahn Lock: Dean Rioli. Interchange: Jason Akermanis, Quinten Lynch, Chris Judd, Brian Harris

I could find plenty from posters at BF ,but most of the same sort of AFL players could bah blah threads go into Bay13..I am banned ,so sadly cant read some of the better comedy ..

There was a soccer team made of AFL players thread a few days ago ..it is gone now..

Here's a thread on the rexona challenge. Can't say I've seen a single post where people claim the AFL will dominate. In fact the majority claim Ling was a poor choice or are making claims like Slater will win because he's a great athlete.

How about backing you dribble with proof for one AFLC

AFL players are supreme athletes ... And we have a bio chemist to support this. AFL is the biggest football codes in this country for a reason. You can't deny that although I suspect you'll try lol

really,
You are delusional as the rest

A midget ex jockey RL player beat the USAIN BOLT of AFL .

Then next yr beat the next fumber served up

How did they go in the RL v AFL boxing matches.

How many Supreme fumble athletes have made a career out of boxing after leaving .
Plenty of RL players have.
Plenty have gone on to rep AUS in RU after leaving..

AFL players????????? :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

Your opinion is not backed up by facts..
But hey that's the norm for fumblers

Why so jealous. AFL players are high level athletes ... I'm not sure how you could say they are not? Just as most nrl players are elite athletes just in a different way. Which is because they require different needs. To say AFL players are not athletes or elite athletes is as pathetic as Dave saying he won't buy wet bixs because they sponsor AFL. These guys train most year round in a sport that requires running a hell of a long way week in and week out ... They are the height of their chosen sport ??? A bio chemist attests to their elite athletic ability and how the uniqueness of the sport requires many different sets of athletic ability .... And yet you day they are not elite athletes because you have a chip on your shoulder about AFL .... I should laugh really I guess ....

The article was about a biochemist who said that looking at AFL players, some, with specific training could be Olympic level athletes. Nothing new in that, just as elite athletes in other sports could adapt their strengths into other areas. The editorial simply highlighted that at the start.
& as usual with these tories about fumblers ,there is the fantasy/delusion about how good they are or could be .
The whole point is when these Tards get out of this delusional bubble & try to compete in the real world the reality is they get smashed ...a midget ex jockey showed Dildo up..

I don't know of any other sport that has the Little man Syndrome as bad as fumbleball.
He came third out of 8. How is that "smashed"?

He came second in the cricket challenge, third in basketball, won the bench press, 3rd in the sprint, second in the high ball challenge, 3rd in soccer, and 3rd in boxing

Tuqiri, ex Kangaroos player, came sixth.
So if Usain Bolt was in the sprint he (according to fumble logic    ) would have more than likely come equal 3rd.

A fumbler wins a sprint on Big fumble day against other uncos & suddenly could be an Olympian matching Bolt over 100M.

Dildo steps out of the Fumblebubble & races against others & can only manage 3rd.
    :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

Delusional Much?
You fucking betcha
No, that's according to youre deluded logic where you believe AFL supporters claimed Deledio would beat Usain Bolt :_<>

Where you get this idiotic notion that AFL fans believe every single AFL player is a world beater is beyond me. Its hysterical actually
Show me any other sport where the fans are deluded as you tards.

The bizzare threads on BF such as put together a team of AFL players & get them trained in (insert sport here) & they would beat any team...
There was even a thread a few yrs ago about how fumblers could easily play NFL but NFL players couldn't play Fumbles.
The same for soccer ,RL .
Then there is outright lying sites like WFN
& its not just the fans its the media as well .
as witnessed above.

Afew yrs ago some Fumblederp journo claimed that a fumbleteam could take on the QLD SOO at a game of RL & beat them.

It happens a the time with your sport,Yet you dismiss it
Show me any other sport that makes these stupid claims.

Very very insecure....look at us look at us attitude

I remember an article in the week leading up to an Origin game in Melbourne .... may have been 2006
where a fumbletard jurno said he could come up with a team of VFL players ... who could beat either of the sides playing the Origin ...

playing RL ...

:(/ :(/    :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :(/ :(/ :(/

he then proceeded to name them & their qualities, & there was about 25 replies backing this retardation up !! :?>
I mean
jesus H people

jesus H

there is no doubt
this sports players .... administrators ... jurnos & most especially... its fans
are the biggest collective of ********* on our green earth   :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>

just watched a show on 7 mate
the search for hurt

a tri athlete.... Matt Murpy
is going around training with professional sporting teams among others..here in Australia as preparation for an international event in the US

he has trained with the following teams
VFL .. Richmond
ARU... the Wallabies
S15... the Rebels
A League ... the Mariners
Basketball.. the Boomers

all sessions were hard & demanding ... although I think he breezed through the fumblers session

today he had a session with the NRL's Cowboys ..
after initially thinking what the Cowboys had set out for him didn't look too bad ( it was a standard cross training session with weights , running & rowing , for players recovering from injury & not playing .. the session attempting to emulate match conditions)
he commenced

now this bloke is a tough little cookie.... & an elite athlete with heaps of mental strength
& has not gone close to failing to successfully complete a session with any of the teams in the above list

& it looked like he was not going to be able to finish this one with the Cows
he dug deep & got there ... just
Matt however pointed out he did the session in the dead of winter on an unusually cool day in Townsville , & if he'd done it on a normal warmer day
or in pre season in the extreme heat & humidity like Cowboys players do all year round
he would not have been able to finish.
He had to dig deeper then he ever had in the series to date ... easily the toughest session & he was .. " shattered" as a result of it.
" You can't ask your body & mind to dig that deep too often " Matt said.
& yet sessions this tough happen 2 or 3 times a week for NRL players

2nd episode today ....
the VFL's Kitty Kats in Brisbane

Breezed through .... barely raising a sweat   :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>
