The NRL is a multifaceted organisation! unlike the AFL with there fleebag competition and there 'no interest North of the Murray. We have real real representative football. we just dont pick rep teams for pretend sake

Yes, on Saturday afternoon you miss out on casual viewers who are doing other things on a Saturday afternoon. How many top rating shows are on Saturday afternoons? Zero. There's a good reason why big shows keep well away from that time slot, hell even the nRL doesn't go anywhere near Saturday arvos these days.Raiderdave wrote:Stewie wrote:Is this minda serious?Raiderdave wrote:it would make ........... no difference at allStewie wrote:Raiderdave wrote:wow

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings Thread
It's like this. If something I want to watch is on .. Say a coolingwood game , I make sure I am at home to watch ... It takes priority. Same if raiders are on, a raiders fan is going to watch it. If other games of afl are on and i am doing nothing else i will flick over ... If storm are on I'll watch a bit if I am home ... Buy it isn't the priority like a collingwood game.
So if I am not into nrl, have a passing interest and it's a Saturday afternoon... My plans for the day don't revolve around me watching the game. If I am home and doing nothing else I may flick over and watch it. The chances of me being home or doing nothing on a Saturday afternoon however are low. The chances of me being home on a Sunday night however are far greater therefore I'm more likely to watch. Rusted on supporters are always going to watch ... It is the casual viewer that is sought hence you maximize ratings on Sunday night.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings Thread
Afl out rated the nrl though ? Did you see the grand final? Anyway I disagree with your opinion re finals I think week on and week out support is the real measure. Although if it mattered to me as it does so much to you (why? I have no idea ) then I would be looking for some way to spin it the way you have.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings Thread
And proof of trying to spin it... I respond to a post with the explanation as to why having a Gf in prime should get more viewers than one not in prime time ... And some how you have responded with some weird post that has nothing to do with what the debate had headed.
If your premise was true, then you would say that the Gf is probably the one game most fans are going to watch wouldn't you ???
Anyway, afl is by far the most popular code with more supporters ... Every measure shows this. Why that bothers you so much I don't know as it in no way impacts on your viewing of nrl games.... Yet.
Or is it just jealousy ?? Otherwise why do you care so much ... At worst you can think to yourself that afl (and most nrl) supporters are wrong. You free to think that you know ... Convincing them however may be pointless .... Unless you can come up with some consistent measure that points to this ..... Which you are yet to do. Cherry picking a stat here or going gang busters when a game gets 50000 hardly supports your case.
Where you do have stats backing you up is SOO . This is the mist successful marquee sporting event in this country . Playing it on a Wednesday is a master stroke as the casual observer (those outside nsw and qld) take an interest. Be sure of it were up against an afl game or during the day, it would not rate as well. But it is played in a Wednesday and it rates its socks off. It is marketed well and those threw games are the highest standard of rl on this country ... Usually better than the gf. If I were a rl fan desperate afraid that the dogma he thought was dominant was actually taking a second place the afl in this country , and third place outside nsw and qld , I would hunch my bandwagon to soo.
