A JUNIOR Coffs Harbour AFL coach has been charged on child grooming offences.
Police from the Sex Crimes Squad's Child Exploitation Internet Unit arrested the man on Tuesday following investigations into online child grooming.
Earlier this year, police were contacted after a 13-year-old boy told his parents about an online conversation during which a man allegedly made sexually-explicit comments and sent inappropriate images.
The boy had previously met the man, a coach with junior Australian Rules football on the North Coast, through his sport.
Police immediately commenced a covert online investigation.
It will be alleged in court that the man engaged a detective, who he believed to be the 13-year-old boy, in a number of sexually-explicit online conversations.
Detectives arrested the 42-year-old man at his home in Coffs Harbour around 4.45pm.
A search warrant was conducted on the home and the man's office where police seized a computer, a mobile phone and electronic storage devices.
The man was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station and charged with one count of using a carriage service to groom persons under 16; and four counts of using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to persons under 16.
He was refused bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday.
Detectives are speaking with other parents of children who received coaching and are also appealing to anyone with information to assist their investigations to come forward.

Officers began investigating earlier in the year when the boy's parents informed them a man, whom the boy had met while playing Australian Rules at Coffs Harbour, allegedly made sexually explicit remarks and sent inappropriate images online.
A detective pretending to be the boy then engaged the 42-year-old coach in an online conversation.
The numerous communications were sexually explicit.
About 4.45pm (AEST) on Tuesday police raided the coach's home and office, seizing a computer, a mobile phone and electronic storage devices.
He was later charged with using a carriage service to groom a person under 16 and four counts of using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to persons under 16.
Bail was refused and the man is due to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court today
