Moved to NSW at 12 so all of his junior footy would have been there.ParraEelsNRL wrote:

I'm not trying to be rude to RL, but you would have to say that there is only 1 current player that plays in the NRL that we could find that was born and raised in Vic, SA or WA. I think that was what his thread was all about. Hopefully this will change with more money at grass roots.
There are 2 players in the super league from WA.

ParraEelsNRL wrote:Typical BS from Bea, I know of at least 6 WA players at various clubs in the NRL right now, they were there last year too so this whole thread is as usual, a complete and utter joke.
Gees Louise, so after all this time and premiership after premiership for the Storm we still have just 1 current NRL player that was born and raised in either VIC/SA/WA/TAS/NT. What an epic failure. Truly embarrassing for a code that likes to call itself the national rugby league.piesman2011 wrote:I'm not trying to be rude to RL, but you would have to say that there is only 1 current player that plays in the NRL that we could find that was born and raised in Vic, SA or WA. I think my point is still valid anyway - NSW has a very long history of producing AFL/VFL players its not a recent thing only now there in much greater numbers, 50 players what do you think a SOO team would look like?

Wtf, how in the hell would anyone here know what kids played where ffs?
Such n such was born here = Tick.
Such n such plays this sport = tick.
Such n such moved away when he was 12 = no way could he have played any junior footy from where he came from = No farking tick.

You know what, it doesn't really matter, they are still Victorians and Western Australians who play the great game of RL. It would be nice though if they could be developed here where they were born. RL is missing out on the talent pool of half the country, imagine if RL could suddenly develop twice as many star players.ParraEelsNRL wrote:Wtf, how in the hell would anyone here know what kids played where ffs?

As for a player who moved when they were 12 to say Qld/ NSW do you really think they developed their RL skills playing under 11s in Victoria ( which chances are they didnt even play in Vic with less then 200 kids playing in that age category) or did they develop their passion after this? Your smart enough to know the most likely answer to this question.

True I think the point is still valid - they don't develop talent outside of NSW/QLD, the player either moved there when young or moved their in late adolescence. That's because there is very little development outside those two states and very small amount of junior talent available. However AF in those states is well advanced, has long histories and a large amount of juniors (in comparison to RL juniors in Vic, SA, WA, Tas etc). Until they have same presence as AF in QLD and NSW they won't have the same level representation. By the way, what would be ideal 22 for NSW/ACT SOO AFL side?

Much of a muchness
Addison usually pays a defensive forward role and suckling usually plays off half back from my memory, Isaac Smith would give them a bit of run off the wing which is what this team is missing IMO. Lots of good in and under mids, monster forwards and the forward line would be better then any in the comp from a regular team. Midfield is also excellent but lacks outside run, with out Smith IMO. Back line is ok but would struggle against most other state forward lines.

He's probably shown that not to be true I think Dave . Would it kill you if people did give a toss ?? Really, you spend a lot of energy on this, but for what . And who are filling all those teams in Sydney's Aussie rules clubs?? There are several leagues in Sydney alone each with many clubs each with many teams ... Someone's playing in those Dave ???
